I'm perfectly aware of that, but I find it hard to believe that Iveco and Iveco only is being so hard to license that it took five years to license only a small bit of the S-way line.
Didn't know that, let's hope it comes soon!
In the blog, 6x2 option is specifically mentioned to come in future update, but I guess there will be more than just that.
However when the update(s) will come is a mystery we can only speculate, because one of the trucks released in a similarly unfinished state in ATS (next gen T680) is in the same state full one year after the release.
They aren't released in an unfinished state. They are released as they are available when they are introduced to the market in real life, and there should be no surprise that there is limited customization for brand new models. Did you think there was an after-market industry already manufacturing parts that would fit this new truck that none of them had seen before?
As to why it takes a long time to get those parts later, we can only guess. But everyone who was involved in negotiating the original license is also involved in approving any changes to it later...
The same happened with the latest DAF truck.
What the hell are you on about, S-Way is around since 2019, this model may have the latest trim, but there's load of stuff that is available in real life missing, including chassis and engines.
They even state it's an eraly release with more updates to come, stop spewing lies.
Though SCS could have also declined this offer and we would still not have this truck in the game, if that is what you rather want.
I got an Iveco Highway Truck of the Year 2013 from the used dealer and pimped it btw. I drive it regularily. Yes, this is weak attempt at counting as Iveco owner to belong in this topic.
OK I will translate for you what I said earlier with fewer words, hope you will get what I tried to say, otherwise, I don't feel like reacting again.
When I said SCS released the truck unfinished, it means that they will add more options to it, nothing else, the truck is fully working for what it offers at the moment and I am more than happy that we can have it before it is fully customizable. I fully understand that what we got is most likely result of agreement between SCS and Iveco, we could have got nothing.
They've done something similar before at least twice, if memory serves me, and one of the released trucks has been updated since then with customization options comparabel with any other previously released truck, while the other is still only available in one possible configuration, with only few optional parts.
Is not uncommon to have incompatible parts and different feature set between the newer and older models.
Regardless the latest IVECO S-Way supports 4x2, 6x2, 6x4 axles as a factory option, so their absence is probably due to licensing issues.
Engine and transmission options as well. FH6 no longer have the D16 engines (replaced by the D17), and all of its I-Shift transmissions have smaller differential ratios.
None of the in-game Volvo trucks have tandem axle lift either, even after nearly a decade later. https://youtu.be/AvgDYT83mqs?si=34fRA5ibrGNZocRX
