Side mirrors on small monitors
we need this feature in game.
rendering the side mirrors outside of the game window, so we can display it on extended monitors and place it 2-3 feet away to the right.
ive done this before, using my mobile phone and small monitor as duplicate desktop and crop out the side mirror to display. it would be great if the game natively supports it, no more mouse moving which feels very unrealistic when reverse parking.

The location for suggestions is on the wishlist thread at the SCS Forums:
https://forum.scssoft.com
https://forum.scssoft.com/viewforum.php?f=5

This is the Steam player to player forum, NOT SCS, the actual game developers.
Sadly, nobody on here can "fix" anything in the game itself, we can only help and advise players.
These forums are NOT the official way to contact SCS, so any comment on here is unlikely to get any response from them. All bug reports, suggestions, etc should be posted in the SCS forums.

How many players use extra monitors or phones/tablets in the game? Enough to make coding all this and making it optional and practical, plus maintaining it in future?
Do not get your hopes up for it ever appearing, unless there is a huge demand from players.

Wait... "we" need? At least i don't, so please don't speak for me. Thanks.

That said, moving the mouse to turn the view ingame is equivalent to move your head irl. Would you say, it "feels very unrealistic" to move your head to look at the mirror while reversing?

You don't understand what I mean. Yes, we find it unrealistic to use the mouse to look around. We don't use our hands to move our heads around either. We use multiple monitors and want to use our heads to look left and right. That's much more realistic than using a mouse!

... or head/eye tracking devices like TrackIR or similar.

Have you tried using head tracking?
I don't know what the "mirror" which you can switch on in the top corner of the screen is called but I use the nearside one. It's not realistic but I think that being able to check both mirrors without using my hands is more realistic than having to change the screen view to use a mirror. My driver's side mirror is always visible. So OP's suggestion is an interesting idea.

you can sort of do that with a manual multimon config. have the main display on left monitor and 2nd view fixed on the mirror at the right monitor.
or adjust UI/HUD area so the ui mirror (but also the route adviser) is on the 2nd screen
There are a lot of small mirror mods in workshop.
They appear in the corners.
Just go to workshop and enter small mirrors in search bar.

As you can see I have just the left mirror showing but you can have both one or the other or none.
