Euro Truck SImulator, How to Open console?

Im struggling to open console with "~" i need help please

A short step by step description to enable and open the console:

1. Exit the game.
   
2. Open file config.cfg in a text editor (Notepad or similar). Default location is C:\Users\[Computer Username]\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2/config.cfg.
   
3. Search for the following lines:
   
   • uset g_developer "0"
     
   • uset g_console "0"
4. Change both lines to
   
   • uset g_developer "1"
     
   • uset g_console "1"
5. Save the config.cfg file and exit the text editor.
   
6. Start the game and get into the 3d world.
   
7. Hit the key next to 1 (usually labelled ~). The console should open.
   
8. Press ESC to close the console.

The menu still doesn't come up, i saved everything like 20 times :(

You might have a keyboard that does not have the correct mapping for the tilde key.
I use "¬" which is the key to the left of number 1 key, top row of the keyboard. Try more keys, if you have correctly set it up in config.cfg it will work.

Might be easiest just to experiment with pressing every key on the keyboard, and if you are using a laptop then you may need to try the various shifted options too (your keyboard probably has a Fn shift as well as standard shift) - you are looking for the key with a particular scan code rather than any given key cap. The UK keyboard generally has that scan code top left under the Esc key, as mojo_musica has already described, but other layouts vary.
