Texture Improvements
I really hope some serious work is done on improving the scenery textures etc to make them more modern. The trucks, forcefeedback, lighting etc are great, but the textures on the surrounding scenery is just so old school and simple, it ruins it for me. Lets face it, you driving a truck for hours, you want to look at breathtaking scenery yes? Hope something is done to improve it..

You'll have to just keep hoping if you ask on here:
The location for suggestions is on the wishlist thread at the SCS Forums:

https://forum.scssoft.com
https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?p=272590#p272590

This is the Steam player to player forum, NOT SCS, the actual game developers.

Yea i know, no point in discussing it here you right. Hope they do upgrade the graphics more..
Smokey Aug 13, 2022 @ 6:43am
If they do upgrade the textures then it would be good to add something like this in texture settings
low = 500mb-1gb vram
medium = 1-2gb vram
high = 3-4gb vram
ultra = 4-6gb vram (since the system specs on storepage are beyond outdated)

Which is very strange, as they both use the identical "Prism" game engine, developed by SCS, and common to both games. They have both had all the same updates and improvements, and the teams that produce them work side by side.
The only difference is the age of some areas of ETS2 which are from the earliest days of the game, (Great Britain is the oldest part) but SCS are working to upgrade all of these (for free) so they match the latest DLC. See the last upgrade to Austria for an example.

In the meantime try the Fael Environment mod, available in the Steam Workshop. It might not be exactly what you want but if you turn the tree and vegetation graphics levels up in game settings it even makes Great Britain look very nice.

ETS2 beats out ATS in all categories, hands down. :100percent:

Agreed...love that Fael Environment Mod..it's still working in 1.45 even though I don't think its been upgraded for a while..I'm using it with Realistic Brutal weather 8.0 (the latest version) and I think most areas look better with those two together.:steamthumbsup:

Lol...yes...I flip flop back and forth from ATS to ETS2 simply for variety...but ETS just has the better feel overall for me...the variety of trucks and roads is amazing...plus if you load the ProMods map..it just offers more to explore...it doesn't take long to get hooked.:steamhappy:

Why are there not any texture mods on the workshop ?
i mean roads-sceneries/etc (not just trucks)

Because they are pretty much all map mods. And map mods are not allowed on the Workshop for ETS2 and ATS.
