Running ETS2 in fullscreen windowed mode without borders.

I am having some difficulties running ETS2 in fullscreen windowed mode. I'm getting a small gap on the bottom of my screen.

Any suggestions?

What does it mean " fullscreen windowed " ? It's either one or the other, not both.

Fullscreen windowed means you can play the game in fullscreen while it's windowed. That way you can have quick access to desktop, alt+tab etc.

In my case I want to use VLC player while playing ETS2, and as far as I know you can not have VLC player on top of the game unless you run it in windowed mode. Now I run VLC player with the "always on top" option enabled.

Annoying to have the small gap on the bottom of the screen though, so any help would be much appreciated.

You can run borderless window by disabling full screen optimization on the EXE, right click on the game exe in windows, click properties, compatibility tab

Doesn't work, youtube Picture in picture doesn't show on top of the screen when in fullscreen with this check on. The only issue with not running fullscreen is that I see taskbar on one screen and part of desktop background on another two screens (where the taskbar would be).

Yeah. I personally use Borderless Gaming app by Codeusa, you can find it on GitHub. If you don't mind using a third party but open source app.

Firefox Picture in picture works with it.

I think I still got some older version of Borderless Gaming cause I used it to play X: Beyond the Frontier in widescreen

Are you running the monitor with the Windows default/native/recommended resolution in ETS2? If not you can see resize issues in some games. If you have a nVidia card try NOT using any DSR setting.

I've just started to play games on borderless fullscreen and god, have I loved being able to alt + tab in loading screens... and as of now, one of the games I most played don't have it, still, in 2022. these games (ETS2 and ATS) need a lot of technical overhaul. let ray tracing aside, we at least need better anti-aliasing like actual MSAA, TAA or something. new forms of upscaling technologies would work too like DLSS, NIS or FSR. graphics look good for a simulation game and the optimization's not that bad if you don't max out the mirror distance, but it could still be better if the game actually benefited from all cores of the CPU. all and all, we need not a graphical overhaul, but a technical overhaul rn.

untick Full Screen in ETS2 settings and add ETS2 to Borderless Gaming app.
