Mods! What should I use?

G'day!

I just started playing ETS2 and I'm loving it! I'm wondering what mods I should be using.

Mainly for improving the graphics I am using SweetFX and a few other mods, but what would your suggestions be? What is ProMods I hear a ton about it but what is it and do I need it?

ProMods is a map expansion. The latest version 1.61 requires you to have Going East DLC as well. 1.61 is bugged in Northern France, the prettiest part of the map and they are working to release a 1.62 to fix this. Requires registration for download at http://www.promods.net/

Other than that, the ETS2 Essentials Mod is a nice one to have. It has gamefixes and real-life logos for trucks, cars and trailers etc. Note that this trailer mod is incompatible with Jazzycat's trailer mod (see below) unless you do a little tweaking.

Thanks! Do I need a new profile for ProMods or can I use my current one with the standard map?

You can use your current profile. But take a backup/seperate save before you load ProMods on it, just be absolutely sure.

I also use an ENB mod, and look up X Brutal Environment HD if you feel like spicing up your graphics a bit more.

Haha sweet Aussies! Yeah I am using SweetFX with some settings I got online and I am using X Brutal Environment HD too, the mirror was super slow to download though. I might have to check out enb too.

Definitely must not forget Trucksim Map: http://ets2.lt/en/trucksim-map-4-7-for-1-9xx/
It adds a bunch of new cities (over 100 if I remember right) to the game world. It also expands current countries and even adds several new ones to south and southeastern Europe.

Just a note that the Trucksim Map (TSM) and ProMods map cannot be used in the same profile. Time permitting, it's well worth it to run two profiles, one for each map.
