GPS app?

It's annoying to keep track of the GPS.

What's wrong with having the GPS shown on screen? You'd rather look away from the monitor to check your GPS route? o_O

The GPS takes up a lot of screen real-estate in trucks don't have a GPS build in. I can certainly understand why someone would want it gone, or have an alternative like a portable one you attach to the windscreen with suctioncups. I like the Ios idea though, though I don't think it would be easy for SCS to do.
Right now, World of Trucks is very passive and have not seen a benefit to be logged in other than for the personalized license-plates. Funds permitted, SCS could do a lot more with World of Trucks.

Doesn't seem to me to take up a lot of space. And you can press F3 once to make it somewhat transparent, and smaller than normal.

I could understand wanting it gone, but wanting one where you have to look away from the monitor, that's just as horrible as doing it in real life, taking your eyes off the road. I foresee many damaged deliveries :P

When I drive a truck with no GPS, I play as using a map: memo the route and only open the map menu while stopped or alone in straights.

And I agree, a GPS as the real ones (with voice) would be great.

Yeah, i drive like that too, i just see what cities i have to pass through and go looking at the signs on the road, very fun to play like that.

Given where GPS should be located, you wouldn't be looking away from the road to check it...
