Mercedes? How? Where?

Hey guys,

I've seen a few of you on here mention driving Mercedes in ETS2. My question is, does Mercedes come with the Base game or have you downloaded it as a mod?

I thought the only the Manufacturers availible in the base game were Scania, Volvo, Man, Majestic, Renault, Daf and Iveco.

If their truck is actually called a Mercedes, it's a mod.
Otherwise' it's the Majestic trucks. (Majestic is Mercedes, because Mercedes haven't allowed their brand in the game)

If you want Majestic to change to Mercedes, there is a mod there change the logo for it. Just google it.

Actually once you get the Going East DLC, the Majestic brand automatically becomes Mercedes-Benz. In the base vanilla game without DLC it's still known as Majestic.

I'm just guessing they got the permission to use the brand Mercedes only after releasing ETS2 base game so they included it in the DLC

it is NOT included in the DLC. if SCS got the brand they would add it in the main game, and they would have said that on their blog. I have going east and don't have mercedes, still majestic for me

I stand corrected. I had DLC and must have installed a mod as well when I first started it up.with the DLC. I just assumed the DLC was the one added it and not mods.

You can try this one http://www.simgamemod.com/mercedes-benz-real-logo-2/ If you use the TSM map then you will need to make a small mod to the mod in order to keep the logo on the truck.

Apparently TSM includes the dealership name change but doesn't include a logo and if you just enable the mod I linked it won't work because the TSM will be loaded after that mod and overwrite it so to get past that you just need to rename the scs file to have a couple letter z in front of it (no spaces, so it looks something like zzzzzzzMercedes_Actros_2009_real_logo (Mod_by_Daltontune).scs) to make it load last and it will change it for you.

their are a few mods that changes the majestic brand to mercedes as well changing companies to their real names etc, the one i use is "ets essentials" another one that does so is "project realism" etc.

Probably never. Mercedes been known for being rather "touchy' over giving their names, under conditions like making their vehicles better than those of competitors.

I'm using a mod called "Mercedes Benz (Truck) Ultimate Mod V1" by "KaptaN TV". Changes everything like interior, exterior, dealerships, names of your owned trucks etc.

I have a problem i got this version of Ets2 that has the scandinavian etc. But i have mods to Majestic but i have mercedes. Any ways how to fix it??

Majestic was the fictitious truck brand SCS was using until they finalized the licensing with Mercedes. If you have mods for Majestic, they are VERY old and likely not compatible regardless of the brand they are supposed to modify.
