When I was on the keyboard and mouse, I had the engine start with the "Z" key.
Seems to work fine for me.
Turns it on, turns it off.
I can see you have edited your original post ..
Is this an addition to what you first wrote?
For otherwise, neop could be the cause of the problem, especially if you do not have deadzone on certain control devices.
'Engine start/stop' and 'Electricity Start/stop'.
I have the 'Engine Electricity' primed with a DPDT which has a blue led status light and is
activated by a key. One side of the toggle has the key wired to it, the other has the 5v for the led. The key will not activate unless the toggle is on showing the led.
The 'engine start/stop' is an actual ignition key, but the key only starts the engine.
In order to shut down and stop the engine, I have to cut electricity to it, using the toggle.
All in all, I have one DPDT toggle and two ignition keys.
Thanks for the replies.
..and yeah, you need to wire a diode into it.
I have two button boxes that I use with ets2, also use them with assettocorsa.
