Cant play the game - update dowload/validating/patching continuously

After last update. I cant play this game. There is always option to update. Then it downloads the update, extract it (patching) then validating and then everything all over again. I already cleared the downloads cache and restarted steam. Still the same. What is going on?

I had to uninstall and then it reinstalled successfully. Just make sure your profile / saves are either backed up, or you are using the cloud save option (I used the second option and no issues).

New profile, no mods, verified game files and game keeps crashing instantly, not making steam crash and making other steam game crash.

Go to "C:\Users\*your username*\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2" after a crash.
Open "game.log.txt" after the crash, (NOT game.crash.txt) in Notepad or other text editor.
Copy it all and then post it to pastebin.com (split in two parts if too big).

But what happened? Never had any problem with updating ETS or ATS game and now it fails? The 1.47 update on ATS went well and I can play the game. 1,47 update here on ETS2 fu*ked up and it wont install - so what changed. What is wrong? I dont understand.

It happened to me as well. Only uninstalling worked

I fixed it. I tried to repair the steam library - never done that before neither need it before. It worked. Didnt expect that for sure.

Repair Library Folder
The Steam library folder contains all of your installed games on disk. These folders need to be writable by all users in order to update properly. Sometimes these user permissions break and need to be refreshed.

Navigate to your Steam -> Settings -> Downloads -> Steam Library Folders -> Right click on folder -> Repair Library Folder

@Overlord - there is a simpler way, and it is to right click on ETS2 from your Steam Library, select Properties, select Local Files and then the Verify button. Will avoid to verify the whole Steam installation drive and specifically checks the game one has issues with.

Veryfing files did not help clearing download did not help either as I stated in my original post.

Here we go again. Same problem with latest update. What the hell is that? And this time nothing helped. Even the repair steam files folder.

Why should I do that when this is the only game which fails to function properly?

Because it is a Steam issue? What do you want me to tell you exactly? It works fine for most people here and for those with a wired issue reinstalling Steam fixed it.
