Do you use the Steam Controller Layout? If yes, which setting?
If both options above are not working tell me!
The controller didn't show up in the ingame device list - just keyboard and mouse. Nothing helped. I made my way threw the Steam Controller Layout now - where the controller oddly was recognsied. Was a bunch of work, but frankly, I really do like the option now, as you can assign a button to multiple actions.
As I mentioned above, with the Steam Controller Layout it works fine as well.
Go to the Steam controller settings and uncheck everything...also try to check just Generic Controller...then re boot and go to the game..see if your controller is recognised...then re-do the key bindings....I had a similar problem a while back with my Logitech F310 Controller...I think that is what I did to get it going again
Let me know if it worked for you or you already found an solution!
Here's the official link: https://ds4-windows.com/
Don't trust the link by any change? Search google for "DS4Windows download"
DS4Windows is ONLY for Windows 7 and OLDER Versions...
Windows 10 and newer versions have NATIVE controller support, built in to Windows.. DO NOT USE an Emulator in Win10 or newer windows versions.
I've never heard of this "ryochan7" ..judging from the name, I wouldn't trust a 1 byte text file from them.
As for DS4W, It has been out for MANY years, I used it with Win7, YEARS before Win10 was even being developed, sooo again, Who is Ryochan7?
You can do whatever you want, it's your computer, but it makes no practical sense to use an emulator when Windows 10 and newer have native controller support and drivers built-in. I've been using my PS4 controller (hardwired USB) since the first day I upgraded to Win10, and have zero issues in, or out, of Steam with and without having custom setups in Steam Controller Setup. My PS4 controller just works.
Ryochan7 are the one who have taken over the project and continue to develop/patch/update DS4windows for Windows 10 and Windows 11.

The benefit with DS4 are that you decide how you want to config your controller for windows use.
There are of course other emulators that work well too. Even the standard Windows emulator also works as intended.
Stick to what you think is best for you.
As the saying goes. If it works, don't make any changes.
