Volvo FH16 air pressure gauge
So a couple of days ago I posted about the air pressure thing where the truck will apparently randomly run out of brake air pressure preventing you from pulling off for quite a while.

If there's anyone who is confused as I was about why this would prevent the truck from moving, the answer is because the lack of air pressure causes the brakes to lock on the wheels. Air pressure in the system will release them.

Anyway, when I figured this out, I still didn't know where the gauge on the hud of the truck was...

So if anyone wants to know, it's in the bottom-right to the right of the fuel gauge.

You will need to get to the repair shop and fix the truck. F7 and then ENTER if you can't get there on your own.

Hmmm did that but can't move onto the repair thing... Am I missing something here? How long's it take for the air pressure to build back up?

I find, with my Volvo FH16, that if I am low on air pressure I can idle around 5,000 RPM. Builds up within 5 minutes max.

If you are taking longer than that, then do F7 - Enter - Enter. That will put you in the repair menu.

yup, i have no clue why they made the airbrakes simulation so easymode since last time i played this game much, but that process used to be mandatory when you started up your truck after parking it for much amount of time.

it's a bit broken for the truck to always start up with full air pressure with air brakes simulation on.

How do you get 5,000 RPM? I'm lucky to get 200 when this happens...

are you positive you're reading the tachometer correctly? usually it's times 1,000 of the displayed value.
i know, the math only brings more confusion, 200,000 RPMs is (probably) a lot more than any-non-rotary vehicle engine can handle, i think most high end cars the maximum is 100,000, not sure though.

Whatever the number (quite irrelevant actually), the needle only lifts off 0 momentarily before dropping back down.

you're probably seeing the engine turnover when it starts in that case if you're reading 200k on the tachometer, just my guess.

the idle should be more or less zero on the gauge, depending on the engine (IRL) you can adjust the idle to be higher or lower than normal for various reasons, don't think it's possible in ETS 2 though.

anyways could anybody tell me how to send pictures here, or we just can't?

@Shadow - those gauges may be located in a different screen of the infopanel, use I to navigate them.

About screenshots take one in-game (F12) then upload it as public here on Steam, and then from your screenshot library open it and at the top right there is a cog icon from which you can get its URL. Simply copy paste it here without any other character wrapping it and Steam will page it nicely.

And please don't necro so old discussions, game keeps changing ^^'
