I bought earlier this year for RAGE but decided only last night to try it with ETS2.
Everything was fine except the two trigger buttons failed to register when assigning them.
I would check with logitech's website and look for the profiler.
I will try messing with the logitech software and see if I can get it to work right. Thanks.
I dl'ed the Logitech controller. I tried using the controller with the buttons assigned as regular (RT for RT, etc), and playing in game with it on. No dice. It still only detects about 1/3 of the buttons.
Then I thought, what the heck, let's let the controller pretend to do keypresses. I bound the various necessary keys to RT, RB, LT, A, X, Y and the like. I then tried the game with both keyboard only and keyboard and gamepade. It still does not work. So the profiler is active and saying I am pressing buttons, but the game is ignoring them.
At this point, I am highly frustrated and, frankly, sorry I spent money on this game. I just can't enjoy playing a driving game with the keyboard and so it is basically useless to me. I suppose I could go out and spend more money on a different controller in the hope that it might work, but frankly that feels like just throwing good money after bad.
EDIT: Update
All drivers are listed by windows as 'up to date.' There is no driver DL available from the logitech site to do it manually, even if I wanted to.
Also, there is no 'just gamepad' option. My choices are keyboard, keyboard + mouse, keyboard + gamepad.
Other than that, all I've heard is that sometimes you have to have ETS2 running, then plug in your controller?
1) go to Hardware & sound, then click on Devices and printers
2) Right click( if right handed) on the controller with it it plugged in already prior to opening the CP
3) slect "Game controller Settings"
4) Select "Properties"
5) Under the settings tab, u can calibrate the controller, then test it under the Test tab
6) after that, right click the controller again in the devices and printers menu, then slect properties
7) click the Hardware tab, then do the folowing for ALL the things in the Device functions box...
A) double click to open a window, then under the general tab, click the change settings button
B) when the new window opens, select the driver tab, then update drivers
C) then have the pc search automatically for the newest/latest driver, and install it (if available)
D) then click OK and close the window
8) then repeat the steps above in part 7 for the rest of the items in the Device functions box
NOTE: this is based off of what i could see on my windows 7 pc, it might be different for u having windows 8/8.1 ... ALSO, be advised to restart ur pc when finished, and also, if u have a screen capture software, e.g. Greenshot screenshot software (its free when i last got it, and google Greenshot )OK, it sounds like to me, based on my past experience, and knowledge, u may have to do some setting changes, despite if the controller works fine in the other games, and also, u may need to backup ur profile, and reinstall the copy of ETS2 u have, and then testing the follwing suggestion below, u may need to do the following in the CP...
1) go to Hardware & sound, then click on Devices and printers

Room217, yes, that is my post over on the SCS forum. No response yet.
I will try leaving the controller unplugged and THEN plugging it in. This seems wildly counter-intuitive but since the stuff that makes sense doesn't work, I am willing to try the stuff that doesn't make any sense.
The only reason I mentioned it was that I saw in a post here some months ago about a steering wheel that ETS2 wouldn't recognise until the game was running and then plugging it in.
