Is ETS2 really 900 MB big? Or is it just me?
So I've recently bought ETS2 and download it. I was checking some stuff and something caught my eye. I saw that it had to download about 900 MB. I was pretty sure that it said on the Steam store that you need 2-4 GB space on your hard drive. I haven't launched it yet. I tried the ETS2 demo and it had more required space than the full version. So I had to ask. If anyone has some good reasons what this is please reply.

I think the 900Mb is the size of the installer files, the demo is 699MB in download size. When the game is installed it uses close to 4GB on the HDD. Mine sits at 3807MB, depends on how many Dlc´c you have, I have them all ;)
sorry, 3907 MB...

Install the game?

I'm not being a smart ass. I don't really understand your question...

Yes sure installing the game would be great but where to click? I can't see any icons that say "Install".

Steam should download 2.1 GBs of data.

So, you aren't finished yet... Probably because of the Summer Sale spamming the servers and clogging it up. Verify your game cache and it will probably start downloading again?

Klick on the game in the list to the left and you will se in the center window if it says install or play. I f it says play just do so ;) It will do some first time installs on first run.

When it downloads that "900 MB installer" it looks like it's ready to play. So I wonder should i click the play button and will it install the needed files?

Yes, Steam installs the game while it is downloaded so you should be good to go

Steam downloads games uncompressed... Well, they are in a game cache file, but they don't need installing like traditional games. Some will install things like DX updates and Visual Basic run times on first launch, but the bulk of the game(s) are downloaded ready to be played.

This is why I said, verify your games cache because the base ETS2 is 2.1 GBs, give or take any DLCs you may, or may not have.
