My friend has the same issue, ETS is definitely not running. After restarting it still gives the same error. He also did a reinstall of the game and steam. Nothing has helped so far. Anyone got any other ideas?

I'm hoping for an answer to this as well. This is very frustrating.

Okay so I just got mine fixed. I'm not sure how well this will work for you guys but it worked flawless. Fixed a few bugs I've been having with other games as well. What I did: I went into my main steam folder where the .exe is and deleted everything that wasn't a folder and wasn't the "Steam.exe" itself. I then double clicked "Steam.exe" and it started to update itself. First thing I did was open ETS2 and bam it opened right away. Hope this helps anyone else

I'm honestly not familiar with Mac. If you are familiar enough to navigate to where Steam is installed, what I said above stays the same for fixing it.

I did a quick search. I'm not sure what version you are running but the first post in this link is pretty direct on finding Steam. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2012853

I found out where the steam folder is and what was the exe. But when i deleted everything and steam started updating I kept getting errors saying that i needed to add stuff back. What am I doing wrong?

Wait I kind of got lost in translation. You are on Windows I'm assuming? If that's the case then you might have just deleted your whole library if you deleted everything in the folder besides the steam.exe. If you did do that then you'll just want to uninstall Steam if that's still an option for you, the end result being just reinstall Steam entirely.
