How do I uninstall patch 1.2?

In your Steam Library, right-click on the ETS2 title and choose Properties. On the Betas tab, you can select from a list of several previous versions.

Do you mean the ancient patch 1.2 or the current version 1.20?

You uninstall the ancient patch by opting out from the beta. You revert back to earlier version than the current by opting into appropriate beta. You do both in properties of the game in Steam library.

no. I mean the latest. that and my promods are a complete mess

Did you update ProMods to version 1.97?

ProMods released a new version compatible with 1.20 when the update was in beta. it works.
