While I think the UK sector is still serviceable in 2022, I do agree that it deserves a remake more than Austria. The devs probably picked Austria first due to the smaller scale, as the larger portion of the ETS2 team should've begun work on the teased Balkans pack DLC.
True but at least it means that driving around the UK is more pleasant with fewer slow-downs in fps.
i would image that Ireland and Northern Ireland will be added as a DLC expansion and not added as part of the GB rework. This would make it logical for the rework of GB to be left until they start working on the Ireland DLC so that the reworked GB is released just prior to the Ireland Map expansion (the reworked GB map could have all the required ferry ports between GB and Ireland in place ready to go but without the ferry "activators" in place).
If they rework the GB portion of the map as it is now, before they work on and release an Ireland map expansion (there is no way Ireland is getting added for free), it means that they will have to go back and rework parts of GB AGAIN for the addition of Ireland (i.e. putting the ferry ports in). it is more efficient and logical to work the addition of Ireland into the plans for the GB rework (i.e. timing the GB rework so that it is released 1 or 2 updates prior to the release of Ireland DLC).
And considering the size of Ireland I expect it to come free of charge - or in the shape of the first DLC below 10 Euro standard price.
Agreed, Central Scotland too, would love to see the Granada roundabout and services in Stirling added as its a popular rest spot for trucks there is also a weight station for trucks on the other side of Stirling before the junction to the M9 heading North/South too.
Plus if you haven't seen an articulated lorry driving up the A85 at Glenogle its crazy.
