IMHO it's high time the Netherlands should be upgraded. It's getting a bit long in the tooth with the edgy curved roads, narrow roads, lacking traffic lights on the outgoing roads in cities. In short: it's limping behind in development compared with other regions and doesn't do justice to what it's like over here. Just my two cents.

Personally I would like to see that too, but I understand if the devs want to upgrade countries that connect to road to the black sea dlc and the upcomming Balkan dlc. Also Poland could use a upgrade to connect to beyond baltic dlc.

Well, I'm not talking about mod work, I already am doing mod work for Flight Simulator X. I am doing that since 2003. I'm no longer employed, I'm pensioned, since 2020. So I had a life while doing that for most of the time. Most of the mods for this game (ETS) become obsolete with the official upgrades. I was rather referring to an official upgrade by SCS.

SCS will get around to updating all areas at sometime. UK is in dire need of updating as is it really poor.
I use ProMods on one of my profiles, just because it is so much better in certain SCS areas and adds a lot of new areas.

Not being rude or anything, but requesting an specific country is useless. First it's not only Netherlands that needs it. And SCS already said they'll revamp ALL old parts of the map. They just didn't post the order of the countries (except for UK, which seems it'll be the last). They only announce the ones closer to be released.

Agreed, it's rather painful to see my country in game. Actually, it's a place to avoid right now as it is not even close to real life in every possible way. The only things accurate are the city names and the Schiphol tower ;-)

As we have multple ferry services to the UK, it's also a connective country (like the Alp-countries) which should at least have some priority imho.

Same goes for most of the original countries, being Brit I'm thinking of UK specifically, but as has been stated elsewhere these will come in time.
This is the prime reason reason I use PM. The additions they have made even, as stated in a derogatory tone elsewhere, if its cut and paste, its a massive improvement over some of the original areas.

It is honestly quite refreshing to see something else than the usual "Rework UK NOW!" posts.

But as others have said: SCS will get there. I think it will get the rework once Switzerland is done.

ok; thats something else. And i agree most mods need update after an upgrade and that means tons of work. I suspect this is not a big development studio or not much people working on it and as mentioned maybe other zone's are more in for a update.

If the anti clockwise development continues, then after Switzerland, which they have recently posted about, would be Luxembourg, Belgium and then the Netherlands.

After these countries are done, then they may move to the oldest part of the original base game map - GB rework with then a possible an Ireland addition.

After this then they can do the Going East map DLC countries of Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary.

Then they can move on to the Scandinavian DLC countries of Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

After this mammoth task is complete, then France, Italy., Beyond the Baltic Sea, Road to the black Sea, Iberia, West Balkans......

Everyone has to wait their turn and some countries are not even on the ETS 2 map yet.

Yep. Especially Rotterdam needs a major overhaul. I mean it's only the world's tenth largest container port. Then again, there are so many places on the map that are in desperate need of an overhaul. I guess one can only hope that after Switzerland the Benelux will be next.

Given their size and location it would not surprise me if SCS did Benelux in one go as the next major re-work after Switzerland (presuming that the team working on the German cities is distinct from the team that re-did Austria)

Yeah, Belgium and Luxembourg are small enough that I really can't see them getting dedicated reworks that are separate. Either they will be done together with each other, or in my opinion more likely, all of Benelux as you said.
