It would be good if SCS added Spain and Portugal to the map, its makes sense if the game is based in Europe

i am sure scs posted the news a while ago. the idea was to open up spain, portugal and north africa. I have noticed illegal versions have appeared on some ets2 mod sites which they have been asked to remove!

The stuff on modsites you are talking about probably is the TSM Mod, which expands to parts of africa etc.
Or you are talking about the Promods Map, which have as a long term plan to reach spain/portugal.
SCS themselfs have nothing announced in that direction (as far as i know).

Not sure about that, no official news from SCS yet. Perhaps in the distant future, but I think for now their priority would be Ireland and south western Europe, including Spain and Portugal.

nope, never heard anything about africa from SCS themselves... as mentioned, some mods include north-africa...

Officially, SCS might have future plans for Spain, Portugal, southern France, MAYBE even Balkan regions, but so far only very vague statements, so really nothing on the official SCS side...

what ever you read there must have been mod-related

also, they are pretty buisy with American Truck Sim at moment, so i´d be surprised if we´d see more than maybe a few additional towns to the already implemented countries in the next few months

They should focus on finishing the top half of Europe before they start to move down any further than Italy. Ireland and the rest of the UK needs to be finished, on top of doing Ireland that would set them up for finishing off the rest of France as the ports down south connect to Cherbourg etc. after that they're yet again set up for moving to Spain, the rest of Italy etc.

If by some miracle they actually work on Ireland/Northern Ireland, I sincerely hope that they acknowledge the two major differences between Ireland and Northern Ireland because although they are, geographically speaking, on the same island they're two different countries as far as history and politics is concerned. Northern Ireland is part of the UK and Ireland is its own country, but that said logistics goes through both of them regardless both to themselves, the UK and the rest of Europe.

Fortunately all this ♥♥♥♥ ended 2 years after I was born, but morons that were brought up by others still living in the past identify with a past they were never even alive to be a part of but still act like they were.

However, if SCS added Ireland/Northern Ireland I hope that they take the same approach that they did with the Scandinavian DLC and actually make it feel like the real country, not just a half assed attempt to fill out the map. Why? Well, Ireland is essentially all windy country roads with hedges, trees lining both sides, farms, mountains and a handful of motorways/main roads. So by adding it and truely mimicking how this country looks they would add a lot of variation in terrain to the game.
