How to use g_job_distance_limit command?
This is the command i've been waiting for a long time and i don't want any distance limil in jobs. But can't figure out how to use it. It's set to "-1.0" by default but what should i change it to?

"0" or "1.0" or "2.0"? Anyone?

g_job_distance_limit is a maximum distance limiter for jobs, so if you dont want to do jobs that are longer then 500km then you use g_job_distance_limit 500 or whatever limit you want.

Once the command is set you'll need to sleep a few times so the game can generate new jobs with the distance limiter on.

SCS hasn't explained specifically how to use this yet (that I have seen), but I would surmise that it may correspond to the 6 levels of the Long Distance Skill and the limits therein.

-1 = Use the player's current Skill value
0 = Limit as though having 0 points assigned to LD Skill
1 = Limit as though having 1 point assigned...

etc.

I think Ryu may have it correct.

The default value is -1.0 so setting it to 0/1/2 probably conforms to the skill level limits.

I don't think that's how it works mate. We need an explanation from SCS anyway.

My understanding of why this was added was that it was in response to players who, after having played for some time, were looking for a way to only be presented with shorter jobs because when your LD Skill is maxed you are presented almost exclusively with long hauls. With this new variable they will now be able to limit the distance of jobs and thus get more of the shorter hauls for which they're looking.

So, I'm not sure this variable is going to get you unrestricted distance on a new Profile with 0 or very few points in the LD Skill even if you put a large value in place.

A.G.Miller is completely right.
Entered value is limit distance in kilometers for job generation. Value "-1" means there is no limit.

Note that its not 100% exact. If there cannot be generated short enough job, longer may be eventually accepted, but there are only few percent of them.

Thinking again, shouldn't "0" be "no limit" value? That's how it is in some other games, i mean.

To be exact, any non-positive number means no limit. "-1" is just default one.
So yes, "0" is also no limit .. :)

Thanks for the clarification, Max!

Okay thank you for your answer.

Can someone please explain how this setting can be changed? Is this in the config file?
Ryu Dec 15, 2015 @ 4:13pm
Yes, it's a line in the config.cfg file in each Profile directory. You can use any text editor to modify the file.

Max,

"g_lod_factor_pedestrian", "g_lod_factor_traffic" and "g_lod_factor_parked" commands work same way? I want to increase draw distance (cause i hate pop-ins).

That stuff actually wont increase the draw distance, it only changes at which point in you line of sight the AI vehicles/pedestrians get the models which can be seen changed.

If you meant that with it ignore this comment....
