Best Beginner Control Methods
I am very new to Euro Truck but I am already finding the keyboard and mouse to be a pain as a primary control method. What other options are out there for under $120 that work well and are more adjustable than a keyboard? (Ex when accelerating with keyboard throttle is either 100% or 0% activated, things like these are what I would like to fix)

You can find wheels for cheap on eBay or Craigslist. Xbox/Playstation controllers are also an alternative.

Playstation DS4 works fine
I prefer the XBOX controller, once you get it setup and used to using it works pretty seamlessly.
I use the XBox controler also on my windows 10 machine.

i use a ps3 controller and it work fine:steamhappy:
Can you use the Xbox controller in pairing with your keyboard since the controller doesn't have a lot of buttons?

Since you don't have enough buttons on the controller, you need to use KB & mouse too.

I find a joystick with twisting handle (for looking left/right), throttle, hat switch (I use it for blinker and up/down view), and a few buttons sufficient to play the game comfortably. You can get something like this for around $50, and you'll additionally be able to use it in flight sims, and not only in driving sims.
Have a look on the saitek web site there's a lot of options there which work with all games, reasonably priced too, Malc.

Have you tried mouse? I am driving with mouse(mouse movement, buttons for gas/brake, mouse wheel for tempomat and additional two buttons for turn signals)

I use the mouse for steering. It's just easier for me to control. I use the number pad for looking around the cab.

Using keyboard and mouse only is awful. I played over 200 hours using a gamepad with dual thumb sticks, and it was great. I set one stick as steering and gas/brake, and the other to look around. Get one with a lot of buttons: you'll want buttons for turn signals, wipers, lights, and other things you need quickly, etc., something like the Logitech Gamepad F310 ($16 on Amazon US). You'll still need the keyboard for the less frequently used things.

The only downside to gamepads are the steering ratios. You can set it up nicely for highway driving, but you'll have to take the roundabouts much slower than when using a wheel. I found that MAN and Volvo trucks had the best steering when using the gamepad. You'll have to play with the steering settings a bit to find what works best for you.

I'm using an xbox 360 controller with the keyboard for connecting trailers etc, it works well, i play online and have never caused a crash yet, had a few asses ram me and pull out on me though! , i'm up to level 26 atm.

i have a Thrustmaster FERRARI F430 Force Feedback wheel but i can't put it on my desktop table as it has wood going across the front of it sadly, i thought about sawing it but i would ruin it.
