Logitech G27 or Logitech G29

Hoping that someone can give me some advice on the following problem
My other half has been looking for a Logitech G27 but they seem hard to get hold off because the new G29 is out, so the question is…
Should I get her to go for the G29 (and the gear shift) or keep looking for the G27?
I can see be the look of them that the G29 has (or seems to have) less buttons and no gear shift but it is the newer one any better (or worse)
Looking for some opinions on this please

As far as I know, technically they are similar. I like G27 better - it looks better, and you don't have to buy H-shifter separately. That would be my choice, If I could find one.

I got g27 "as new" off a well known auction site. Still boxed and hardly used it was less than half price and best of all, it was only 40 miles away from me.
Gonna try and see if the shifter from my g25 will work with G27 so I can keep the h-shift.
Yep, I just found a post about this. Just a simple matter of rewiring one pin. Sweet!!!!

Not sure if you consider this an option or not, but I love my Driving Force GT. It's a fantastic wheel for the money. You can pick one up for between $60 and $80.

I presently own the G29 and love it so far. Only thing that is kind of a bummer with it is the Gaming software that you download is almost useless with ETS2...there is no "PROFILE" for the game where as with the G27 there is.

One thing the Gaming softwatre does help with is on occasion the steering with the G29 gets to sensitive and no settings in the ETS2 will corret it If I open the G29 Gaming software and go into Settings and Reduce the turning radius from 900 down to 899 then back again and click ok....then go back into ETS2 everyhting is fine. This doesn't occur all the time just seems to be a random thing.

As mentioned above the G27 comes with the pedals and shifter included the G29 only the pedals. The shifter with the G27 has buttons on it as the GForce Shifter doese not.

As for finding the G27 if you can purchase off Amazon I've seen plenty of them on there.

One of the other reasons I purchased the G29 is looking down the road for future game support it's alot of money to invest in a controller I want it to be capatible with future games.

yep looks good!!! i have a few on my wish list, but when i went back a few days ago a few of them where "sold out" or "not available at this time" but with luck (and fingers crossed) i can get it ordered by the end of the week

many thanks to everyone who help i have seen a G29 bundle in currys/pcworld for £300 which has the gear shift as well so looks like i will be getting that for my xmas present!!!

Awesome news Asgard, One thing I forgot to mention about the G29 that needs to be done before it will work on the PC, is right above the row of colored lights is a switch. Make sure it is set to PS4 then your good to go.

I had to wait a week after I purchased mine and I thought I was going to go crazy watching videos of everyone driving to their hearts content. One fellows videos that helped me pass the time was a fellow UK resident of yours with the handle Squirrel. His videos were both informative and entertaining and if you haven't seen his videos yet search for the one where he hauls a giant log.....it's hilarious.

He is a major Scania fan and I concur I like them too but one thing I have noticed happening with me after watching so many of his videos is the British terminology is rubbing off on me. hee Hee.

When I go to upgrade my Scania I find myself saying...."Oh Dear, I must choose this engine and transmission to have a ( PROPPER ) Scania". I love it. 👍

I still call the hood a hood and trunk a trunk but give me time and a few more Squirrel videos and I'm sure I will convert to Boot and Bonnet.
