Problem Installing Mods on Euro Truck Simulator 2
Hello everyone,

I'm having trouble installing mods on Euro Truck Simulator 2, and I'm hoping someone can help me figure it out.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

I downloaded several mods from the site ets2mods.fr.
I got files with the .scs extension.
I created a folder named mod in the Euro Truck Simulator 2 game directory (the default location).
I copied and pasted the .scs files into this mod folder.
Then, I launched the game, but I don't see any mods in the available list, even though I've made sure that I have the correct version of the game.
I’m not sure what could be causing the issue. If anyone has encountered this situation before or knows what I could do to fix it, I’d really appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Is the folder in your ETS2 folder that is in your documents? If not, you are at the very wrong place for that.

The correct location for non-Workshop mods (default Windows install) is:

C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\mod\

The game will not see them if you created a directory in the Steam game install location.

Hello, after going to the Steam library, I right-clicked on Euro Truck Simulator 2, then selected "Manage" and "Browse local files." Not finding the "mod" folder, I created one and placed my mods inside, but they do not appear in the game.

That is because this is the wrong place. Remove that folder and create it in the correct place that was stated.

I guessed that you had made the mod directory within the Steam installation location which is why I gave you the correct location for mods to be placed. ;)

You don't create a follow Euro trucks does it when installing the game. As already said its {drive}\users\{you pc name}\documents\euro truck simulator 2\mod this is where mods go. You have a folder called screenshots for in game photos etc, you config files etc. User profiles etc. all in this euro truck simulator 2 folder.
