EDIT: I do have the Krone trailer DLC, is it in there?
Yeah, at the moment the Krone eTrailer is only available in the Freight market. You can search for a freight market job with either a Dry trailer or a Cooler. Look for jobs under 350km. Head to one of those depots and then click the cog-icon next to the trailer thumbnail image (important: you must travel to the depot otherwise the cog-icon doesn't appear). From there, you can select one of the Krone eTrailers (on the last pages, they usually have 3 different paint jobs with one of them being the colorful paint job).
It's a bit of a hassle and too bad they are not yet more widely available but maybe some time later! I recommend checking them out, though!
Now that I have also tested for the performance boost they give I can say for sure it's a noticeable boost.
I used the DAF XD 299HP (automatic transmission) and took a job from Montpellier to Barcelona. This turned out to be an excellent test route. There's a 90km/h speed limit and long uphill sections with toll gates here and there. I had little to no issue whatsoever to reach 90km/h with the eTrailer even uphill.
Instead with a regular trailer my top speed went as low as 33km/h on one of the uphills and reaching and maintaining 90km/h was really difficult (except on downhills :) ) during the entire route. Fuel consumption with eTrailer was 31.1 l/100km and with a regular it was little over 38 l/100km, so the fuel consumption reduction was more than 20% this time. I had the heaviest cargo I was able to find and that was 23t for both the eTrailer and a regular trailer. Very nice trailer, I must say!
