Controller controls messed up after most recent update
I'm using an XBONE controller and the newest in-game mapper with stock mappings.
The Y-axis of both sticks are inverted and i had to invert them via Steam Input, LB doesn't work in the options menu, so i can only switch option tabs to the right.
Resetting the controller in-game doesn't fix it.

As for Steam Input:

You will have to recreate your old config by adjusting the new version instead. (Sorry about that, that's how Steam Input config changes work, there is not much we could have done about that).
Btw. you should use Steam Input only for Steam Controllers or when a game has no controller support.

As i already stated, resetting in-game controller configs doesn't solve the issues.
I'm using stock settings (always have) and set up everything from scratch when the controller and in-game mapping update got released.
There is no old config or mapping profile that could interfere.

Also, why should i not use Steam Input? Steam Controllers are also just XInput divices (a.e. XBOX controllers). It also was the backbone for controller mapping for ETS2 for the longest time. And without it, i wouldn't have been able to invert stick y-axis' to solve at least one of the issues present.

If there's no topic on the first three pages, i'm going to create a new topic, especially when the issue came up with the most recent patch.
There is little point in necroing a thread about older issues and hijacking it.

You can not use the in-game controller config when you have Steam input active. I'm using the in-game controller config (not Steam input) since 2019 and have zero issues with it.

And i've been using Steam Input for literally everything, including ETS2 for years, and it never caused issues. Steam Input doesn't interfere with XInput signals, so i'm not entirely sure where you got the impression from that it apparently does.

Because Steam likes to mess with Steam Input and updating controll schemes kills the current scheme for everyone who uses Steam Input. That doesn't happen using the in-game controller configuration.
But you do you.

The common shortening of XBOX One.

Seems like Steam and this game's community are the most hostile people on the planet it's disgusting... I'm too had a completely fine working game which now is LITERALLY unplayable, and people trying to find a solution to be able to play again, are met with douche attitude and "There's a damn search button, USE IT" type of comments

The F-ed up controls IS a real problem, no amount of hostility will put it under the rug, it only irritates people even more....But then, that might be the desired outcome, people nowadays seem to find pleasure in aggravating others

Steam input is absolutely not the problem, don't shift the problem as I use Steam input in many games and they're still working perfectly fine. I can play even Star Trek online with ONLY a controller using SI, and if you play that game you'd know that it is a nightmare and doesn't really have control support

So no, it's not Steam input's fault

I found a solution, and it's as weird as it gets...
The culprit was driving school. I went into driving school and reset all controls again (Reload official default Steam Input profile, setup in-game controller), went to main menu, loaded up my career and did the whole shabang there as well and it works.

Driving school changes a few settings for its specific challenges, and something about that seems to mess up the general config.
I have no idea of setting things up twice in that fashion is actually a solution or a fluke, all i know is that it worked,
I could reset my bindings and mapping profiles as much as i wanted and nothing worked, i did it once in driving school and once in regulat play and it works.

I didn't really understand the steps here, can you explain simpler?
I'm having the problem that my old config just gets resetted to default every time I go ingame. The dev wants us to just roll with it and edit our configs from scratch but it would take me literal hours to copy what I had.
