Bad truck steering in rainy weather
Good evening. After new update my truck steers very badly on wet roads (tried only on new DAF xG+) and I need to slow down to 35-40mph to correctly fit into road turns. No such issues with sunny weather and dry roads, and yes, I use same keyboard as usual, haven't changed any settings. Before this update all my trucks steered nice and smooth even on wet roads, but now I need to set steering wheel in extreme positions (left or right) and even in that situation truck turns not even in half like in usual conditions. No physics mods, no tuning mods for this DAF, nothing, just stock truck.

Different tyres have different performance in the rain. If you use the cheapest tyres then you have the worst performance in the rain having the high chance of you loosing traction on the wet road.

So this is actually an intended mechanic.

Well, I use same Continental tires as usual (modded ones, not default) on every truck and I haven't noticed such issue on my other trucks (both vanilla and modded), it starts only after last update. Maybe change tires is really option? My current tires ain't cheap, they costs 4500$ for front wheels only x)

Is there anything wrong in slowing down to drive round a bend in the road?
Do you think that doesn't happen IRL?
If you look at the road signs, you will see maximum speeds IN THE DRY for certain bends, especially on and off-ramps, so you should be going a lot slower in the wet to drive round them.
Trucks are not cars, you can't expect 40 tonnes to corner like a 2 tonne car.

Yes, but point is - there wasn't such issue before update, ofc, for example, I used to slow down from 60mph to 50mph before sharp turns and maybe slower, but wide turns always were okay and I didn't even get slower to pass it, now I need to slow down much harder, almost to 25-30mph on sharp turns and 40-45mph on wide turns (where I could pass on 60-70 before this issue). That's the point. I've never faced this problem before on wet roads on any types of turns (also I have ATS, same patch 1.40, no such problem). I haven't noticed that SCS introduced "hardcore" driving on last update, so I think it's somehow technical problem D:

It wasn't last update, but 2 or 3 versions ago. It is now more slippy in rain. And when you have heavy cargo it's worse (as it should be). ;)

I use the cheapest (I assume) default tires and have never noticed any loss of traction in the rain, and I drive in the rain a lot. Perhaps I have a slider set wrong, or perhaps I just don't expect too much grip. It is just mysterious to me when folks mention grip in the wet, as it has never been an issue for me :lunar2020thinkingtiger:

So, you don't see any traction loss in rain since latest update?
For me it feels like front wheels don't turn as much as I turn steering wheel (on wet roads)

Not really, no. Maybe I'm just too cautious.

Well, I noticed how it happens from 3rd person view - front wheels really don't turn as much as I turn steering wheel - if speed more than 40 mph on wet roads, my front wheels turns on almost 2 times less angle than on dry roads D:
UPD: Tested this stuff on Volvo FH16 2016 8x4 - no problem

Maybe the modded tyres are the issue? Have you updated that mod since the release of the new truck? I have no idea how tyres interact with the trucks in the game files but it wouldn't surprise me if that mod would need to be updated to support a new truck. I guess you could try to find out if that's the case by testing it with regular non-modded tyres as well. I did a quick job with that truck and did end up driving in the rain I believe and I didn't notice anything different.

damn, really, thanks :D Rokeda Good year tires were real problem, changed them to another Good year and now steering on wet roads is fine and smooth. \o/

I didn't even notice during the last couple of days but I've been driving slowly, I've not played much in last few updates, will have to invest in better tyres now, my driving is bad enough as is hehehe.
