Yes, restoring a truck is much more expensive than a new one. I think this is somehow the same IRL. Much more manual work. Remove the old part, install the new, etc....
Just imagine buying a truck with 500.000 km on the clock.
How much will it cost to make it similar to a brand new one?
Like building a new truck from the scratch in a workshop not in a factory, where everything is made for building new trucks. This includes the building process itself (robots, ... ) as well as the logistics for the parts, etc. etc.
The failure is yours in understanding how real life works. Restoring a vehicle to a good state is much more expensive than buying a new one.
• Restoration could not make use of efficiencies and economies of scale in mass production, especially if the restored truck uses a personalized, custom, and/or non-factory part.
• On older trucks, some parts may no longer be in production anymore, requiring customized fabrication.
• Restored trucks need to be dissembled, then reassembled. New trucks only need to be assembled.
• It is easier to paint a body when nothing else is installed yet. An already made truck needs to have some of its parts removed and/or wrapped before repainting.
• New parts are more predictable to fabricate to spec, being in controlled environment. Restoring a part to spec is more tricky due to many external variables that affects the part differently.
If you don't like how the restoration unit works, just don't use it instead of trolling about it on here.
