My PC is not good enough
I have to admit that my old/outdated Pc is not good enough to play this game. It's not like it is completely useless. I can still play the game with some limitations.

I realized that the more recent the update or the DLC is, more chances of game crashes in an old/outdated Pc. Because I have had terrible experience with the west balkan cities. So I have stopped driving through west balkans and I don't even quick travel there. Still I purchased Greece DLC and quick traveled to Athens, resulting in a game crash. Same story with those German cities reworked in 1.53 update.

I do not see any issues with other map DLCs released before the West Balkans. So I have to resist myself from driving through the west balkans and Greece 😞

I've seen so much of game crash issues in this forum after the Greece dlc is released. It could be because of our PC too.

I just wanted to share it. I hope I could change the PC asap..

No offence, but i'm not convinced your priorities are right there, ie if it were me i would be looking to upgrade the machine first and formost and not buy loads of DLC.s and what not. PC is the most crucial part of the jigsaw, that''s my view.. not just for the enjoyment of ETS2, but any game which demands high cap, otherwise imho a game is not enjoyable

I agree with you.

I occasionally play this on my old PC with a Phenom 955, 8 GB RAM, a Radeon 8000something and no SSD but I barely ever had a (non mod related) crash.
Did you reduce the grafics quality? Maybe try a tool like Wise Memory Optimizer if it´s a RAM issue (without this tool newer regions lag heavily with 8GB)

ATS runs fine on that PC btw

playing on integrated graphics (especially intel) isn't really gonna cut it. with a regular desktop I'd say just get a cheap gpu that would already be million times faster .. but thats tricky with a prebuilt system. (not impossible though)

I have reduced the graphics quality. Even I'm playing the game at 30 FPS limit. I don't have any mods either.

This is a old device with 8GB RAM. SCS is recommending 12 GB RAM. Probably that's where the issue is. But I won't have any issues as long as I resist myself from driving across the West balkans and Greece. So I'm gonna stick to that.

Anyway I am going to change the device ASAP since this is very old.

Thank you for your time.

Except if you have a CPU that is below minimum spec and use its integrated GPU to play the game with, you shouldn't see any crashes. Only performance issues.

The game is very forgiving when it comes to low end and outdated hardware. Just integrated GPUs that are below minimum specs are an issue.

Minimum specs is still 8 GB RAM and the game can run with that. But we can only really give you any advice there if you tell us your specs.

My computer is an average PC with some older parts. Nothing special. Nevertheless, ETS2 runs in high settings. In Greece I usually have around 50 fps, between 40-60. My PC wasn't that expensive (except the graphics card) The older parts of the game like France and so on are running with more than 120fps. The graphics card was 100€ used, the CPU 60€, The SSD I found on the streets, another NVme for the game itself 70€, RAM 16 GB 50€, mainboard 50€, the other parts were still in the PC. My specs: AMD Ryzen 4500 (it stays cool less power), ATI RX 6600 XT 8GB VRAM DDR6, 16 GB RAM, Soundblaster Z, Samsung SSD for win 11 pro and a Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVme. I put the parts together. That was it.

Update: Important note: I`m playing in Full HD.

I feel you Op. Each expansion/rework runs worse on my spec than previous one. Greece is just horrible. As for now, I had only terrible stuttering and lags from several seconds to almost half a minute. Now, there are crashes.
Worst part is, even decreasing all details to lowest potato does nothing.
Win7, Phenom IIx4 970 3,5ghz, GTX960, 12gb ram. It was a beast pc when I build it 12 years ago, now it cannot run 10 year old game which is constantly updated.
Even worst part is that I won't have any good PC in near future :/

Erm, Steam does not run on Windows 7. Or Windows 8/8.1 either for that matter.

OS and CPU are your issue here. Probably CPU alone.

it's pretty inenvitable, just look at the release of black sea dlc and further with new lightings, more reworks, more hd assets and others

Mine could still play it with AMD Radeon 520 + 16 GB RAM and 8th Gen i7 Intel Proc, but one day i'll have to replace it with bare minimum laptops such as MSI Bravo RTX 2050+ 16/32 GB RAM so that i don't have to worry for like around 5 years with further demanding specs and such
