1.53 crashes

When I want to pick a QUICK JOB and ETS 1.53 tries to load that screen, my game crashes right away. Anybody has a solution? I cleared Steam download cache and took incompatible mods out of my game (have a few compatible still active)

remove the "compatible" mods also. just because it shows its compatible doesn't mean that it doesn't cause problem. also try a new, clean profile with no mods in it.

In my case the game was crashed by "Real Traffic Density" mod

If you have mods installed then they maybe your problem below is what i do every time there is an update or i have problem's with stuttering freezing or even crashing and problems with texture and graphics

There is no easy way to work through making sure all mods are working

First make sure the update is complete by verification of your files and then simple run the program in vanilla first

simply follow the steps below if unsure


I always run a complete vanilla version which has never had any mods at all every time that a update is done. Then i do a quick job to test

Then i have a second profile where i test each mod for compatibility where i can remove any that are not updated yet

Just add one mod at a time running a quick job for each one then leaving all mods that don't cause a crash activated do the same again always make sure that you do a quick job

Then i have a third profile which is my main game profile which is always working as the first two steps make sure everything is fine.

Hopefully this might help you to sort out any problems in the future

Ok, disabling all mods fixed it...pity though that updates are so frequent now and making the use of mods so difficult. Thanks for the help

3 Major updates per year. Hardly frequent.

i haven't got a single mod installed and I keep crashing after the update as well. logged on to ATS and it still works fine. truly not sure what the problem is.

My game also crashes all the time. I have already all mods deactivated and it still crashes. Big sad.

Ah alright. I started playing with 1.51, and 1.52 and 1.53 followed quite shortly imo. But if it is like 3 times a year in general, I stand corrected

Removing mods is NOT removing the modded parts from your save file. You have to sell all the modded parts BEFORE removing mods.
The most simple test to determine if your issue is caused by mods:
Try to reproduce it on a vanilla profile (no mods EVER in it). If you can not reproduce it there, then it means that it is a mod problem.
