VR issues: causes and fixes
Hello, I am using an old set of Oculus-CV1, and running on a mid/low tier computer.
There are mainly 3 issues I've encountered, that is making the experience worse; I hope this thread can act as a discussion of possible fixes for following issues*
Feel free to post other VR related issues

*I don't have a fix for listed issues, as of now. Se link below for VR optimization guide.

1 - CHASSIS MODEL IS INVISIBLE IN THE LEFT INTERIOR MIRRORS:
This affects most trucks, and from my experiments, any deviation from default mirror adjustment will result in presence of issue.

When moving head to the left beyond normal viewing angle of mirror, the model periodically pops back, but only at this uncomfortable angle. Leaning way back may also result in model popping in.

Possible causes:
Conflict with primary eye in VR headset: maybe an issue if the game draws based on the viewing of the right eye, may explain why model is popping in when head is moved all the way to the left.
However I think the default primary eye in Oculus is the left eye.

Misplacement of head position/view model:
When entering "truck adjustments" (menu for adjusting seat mirror, etc...) the head position will always move forward a bit. Sometimes entering this menu places the head position in front of the truck (this was present in the Scania S). If the in game head potion is far away from the interior mirrors this could be explained by a draw distance optimization. This does not explain why the trailer is allways visible in full detail.

2 - FAR AWAY TERRAIN IS ONLY DRAWN WHEN LOOKING AWAY:
Looking away can cause giant mountains and other terrain objects to pop in, in my peripheral vision.
This is annoying because it should be the other way around. Objects not currently in view is not necessary to draw; so when the game only draws it when looking away is frustrating, and immersion breaking.

Possible cause:
May be connected with first issue, and could be a result of conflict of in game head position and your actual head position.
As far as i am aware it is not possible to adjust the in game draw distance.

3 - TRUCK CUSTOMIZATION CAUSES STUTTER WHEN LIGHTS ARE ON:
This only applies for interior camera, the stutter is gone in all other camera modes.
It is not affected by state of auxiliary lights. the stutter gets progressive worse from park lights, and is worst with high beams.

Possible cause: Adding details, especially chrome details is more intensive for the computer. Could be a sub optimal way of processing in VR. The interior camera should not be as much affected by the exterior elements (optimally).
As I have experienced, running issues in ETS VR does not manifest with the usual FPS drops; and is manly experienced as "stutter" or "rubber banding".
The game is running stutter free as long as my head is stable. And stutters when moving.
Some trucks are worse than others, and some does not cause this issue. The worst I have experienced was with the DAF XF105. This is an old model, problem could be explained by bad optimization of older models.

*I am using mods, but I experience all listed issues in mod free profile. I have also verified integrity of game files.
I have adjusted settings for VR optimization according to this guide:

I am running -oculus launch option

Happy trucking :)

Please report bugs with the VR version on the SCS Forum.

Please note: VR is not officially supported and is worked on by a single dev at SCS in their free time.

Misplacement of head position/view model: >>>> This happens mostly, when you activate the settings for mirror and so on while driving. When you stand still with the Truck, everythings works fine. The Rest are points, we all have to live with more or less in VR . for the Mirror Problem i just using a Mod for digital mirrors

1 - CHASSIS MODEL IS INVISIBLE IN THE LEFT INTERIOR MIRRORS:

Fix missing truck chassis parts in the drivers side mirror:
Some setups, multi monitor, wide fov, VR etc can cause this problem.
Your Profile - config_local.cfg - uset g_baked_vehicle "0" <- Default "1"
