Idle drivers
I just noticed that my drivers in Lisbon are Idle for a while. Currently I am in 442nd day in the game. But those drivers from Lisbon who are rated more then 7.5, are idle since 305th day. I don't see this issue with the other garages. Is this a bug or are they on strike? Lol.

Check if their trucks are red in the truck manager. If they are you either have to replace them or restore them.

Give them a kick in the behind! :-D How much of Portugal/Spain have you discovered? Maybe they need new territory and companies to pick up from.

Haha.... I have not discovered much of Spain and Portugal compared to the other DLC's. Maybe they need new territory. I am very lazy, So I am just gonna relocate them to the other garages and see how it works. thanks for the reply

Exploring the map does not influence the drivers.

Could be trailers they can't use. Personally I don't have problems with AI drivers and trailers.
But I don't give them gastanks when the don't have any ADR skill of course.

I have one ore two lazy drives doing nothing for a while as well every here and than.
Put them in a different garage or a different slot usually solves the problem.

Also check the trucks. They refuse to drive broken trucks (permanent wear above 20% I think) . But you should get an eMail in game if they do so.

Those trucks are in good condition. But you were right. Those trailers in Lisbon had something to do with those drivers being idle. Because I sold those trailers and finished a quick job. Now they started driving. I believe they were not able to find the job that is related to the trailer. Anyway thank you

Perfect. Literally I have assigned them Gas tanks. Lol.
Now I have sold those trailers and they are up and running. Thanks for your time

I acutally thought geography mattered - the more map discovered the more map all company drivers can pick up from and deliver to. Well - guess I wasted some time on some of the jobs putting in some extra discovery.

@Gaming Rookie: :104: You're welcome. Glad it works. Maybe there is no cargo for that in town. At a rating of 7.5 they should have some ADR skill unless you didn't train it.
Curtainsiders, Reefers or Flatbeds usually work well.
But the additional profit with owned trailers is marginal, so it's not really worth it for the AI drivers.

@J8SUPRME: You can go for the map exploration achivements. But that's A LOT of work...
The drivers pick any location they can reach with their long disctance skill.
As long distance also gives XP and money, it is one of the most important skills for them.

Thanks for clearing that up. Since I started all over I'm now on 2 garages all slots occupied. My drivers are all on Balanced but I should probably change that to long distance instead.

The best way of managing the drivers are just to let them be on balanced. They will level up soon enough and you will drown in money from them anyway...
(And no trailers as mentioned before.)

I'll just leave everything on Balanced. The money is rolling in so it's not a big issue. I own no trailers at all.

All skills are important, only Ecodriving is the less useful. Better balanced than any other messing with skills, really.

Long distance can actually reduce their earnings in the short term as they then take long jobs with poor payouts. Increasing payouts early is better (with at least one long distance skill).

In case of incompatible trailers, their behaviour will depend on the direction of the journey:
• Outbound (garage is the origin): they will ignore the trailers, then take a job Freight Market-style.
• Return (garage is the destination): they will return empty.

It kinda does, but it only comes into play when their Long-Distance skill is maxed out. Usually, the closer to the map edge, the greater their theoretical maximum driving distance.

But as these comments recommend, it is better for the drivers to have diverse cargo options (unlock every cargo type) before min-maxing the skills. Mainly to reduce the chance of returning empty.
