Check if their trucks are red in the truck manager. If they are you either have to replace them or restore them.
Could be trailers they can't use. Personally I don't have problems with AI drivers and trailers.
But I don't give them gastanks when the don't have any ADR skill of course.
I have one ore two lazy drives doing nothing for a while as well every here and than.
Put them in a different garage or a different slot usually solves the problem.
Also check the trucks. They refuse to drive broken trucks (permanent wear above 20% I think) . But you should get an eMail in game if they do so.
Now I have sold those trailers and they are up and running. Thanks for your time
I acutally thought geography mattered - the more map discovered the more map all company drivers can pick up from and deliver to. Well - guess I wasted some time on some of the jobs putting in some extra discovery.
Curtainsiders, Reefers or Flatbeds usually work well.
But the additional profit with owned trailers is marginal, so it's not really worth it for the AI drivers.
@J8SUPRME: You can go for the map exploration achivements. But that's A LOT of work...
The drivers pick any location they can reach with their long disctance skill.
As long distance also gives XP and money, it is one of the most important skills for them.
Thanks for clearing that up. Since I started all over I'm now on 2 garages all slots occupied. My drivers are all on Balanced but I should probably change that to long distance instead.
(And no trailers as mentioned before.)
I'll just leave everything on Balanced. The money is rolling in so it's not a big issue. I own no trailers at all.
• Outbound (garage is the origin): they will ignore the trailers, then take a job Freight Market-style.
• Return (garage is the destination): they will return empty.
But as these comments recommend, it is better for the drivers to have diverse cargo options (unlock every cargo type) before min-maxing the skills. Mainly to reduce the chance of returning empty.
