Logitech G29 Setup
When I started playing ETS2, I picked the H-Shifter option. However the clutch doesn't work and I am stuck in neutral. Help? :nogo:

I am no expert on the clutch or H-Shifter as when I used my G29 I used it with real automatic and used the H-Shifter for drrive and reverse. Also when I had the G29 there was no way to check the clutch calibration because of the software. My G29 was faulty and I replaced it with the G920 and when I got that and downloaded the software there was a way to check it's calibration but it was not as I would expect. The wheel calibration had a screen and the wheel would turn side to side, if the calibration was out you could calibrate it and it would centre itself in the middle of the screen after calibration, that was when I had the G29. When I got the G920 when I would check the wheel calibration it would go from side to side but at the top of the screen and the clutch would go up and down on the same screen. For the G29 there was no way to check the clutch calibration but with the G920 it was done on the screen for checking the wheel calibration. I think that was because they updated the software from Logitech. The calibration check is done by clicking on your Windows control panel, then clicking on devices and printers and then right clicking on the G29 wheel and clicking on properties. I am sorry I can't give you any other advice but to check that the clutch is recognised in the software. By the way, you can check the gear shifter in the same way to make sure that is functioning correctly too. I am also assuming you have it set for PS4 (that is it's setting for PC) and you have the latest software from Logitech with the Logitech control panel and that is set for default and the persistent profile is set for none. Also one more thing make sure you have the wheel plugged into a USB 2 port directly on the computer and not a USB 3 port. Many people have reported problems using shared USB hubs and USB 3 ports. You probably know all this already and if you do please pardon me telling you. I also hope someone who has a G29 and uses it with the H-Shiifter responds and you are able to set it up so it works corrrectly. Just one more thing, make sure you set up your wheel and shifter using the set up wizard in ETS2. As I said if you aready know all this please pardon me for telling you.

@Willy - ever heard of paragraphs?

NO! Please give me a detailed description.

Thanks, the shifter does seem to work on 'Grid'.
ETS2 Wizard shows that my clutch is activated when I am not even doing anything, but when I press the clutch the 'slider thing' went down.

You could try fiddling with the clutch in the wheel settings. The wheel is set "centred", the accelerator and brake are both set "inverted", not sure what the clutch is supposed to be set for but you could try the other settings to see if it works properly. If changing the setting works then go back to the wizard and set everything up again. Also make sure you map your gears in the wizard and there needs to be a button for activating high and low gears, I have no idea how to do that but you could check back through the forums or even post another question in the forums asking how to set up a H-Shifter. I know there are many people who use it but might have other wheels but I think the setting up would be the same for all wheels. That way you might get some more responses other than just mine. Sorry I don't have any more advice. I hope you can get it working and I wish you well.

stringbean I am just trying to help someone. Sorry if my lack of paragraphs upsets you but I do find your comment rather asinine and pedantic.

It's great that you're helping someone and there is no need to apologise but it really is something you should of learnt at school and something you see every day when reading books, articles e.t.c.

Paragraphs help to break things up into chunks and turn what otherwise looks like a long, boring and congested comment/post or article into something readable.

Thanks! Apparently I had to switch the clutch to inverted.
