Downloading Mods on Windows 7 Problem

I can't extract nothing when I download some of the mods. Most of the files were .rar files. When I try some other mods, they fail to download. Could it be a firewall problem? Does anyone have a website that I can easily download Peterbilt and other add ons for the game?

you need to install winrar on your pc ..... or 7zip

converter ?.... no, what converter you talkin about? you don't need that.

you just need winrar, which is free ... and 7zip, free as well, just to be able to extract the .scs files. that's all

Do you have a link to the winrar download and/or 7zip?

cant download winrar because it fails every time I try.

Does anyone know? If anyone can type me a step by step direction to get around this issue and what to do with the mods, then that is helpful.

first you need to download a mod you like

2) double click the file you downloaded with mouse to open.
3) if there is a "read me" file open it and read it.
4) grab the .scs files with left mouse button and throw them in C:\Users\APOLLO\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\mod folder
5) open game and activate them from your profile.

i am sorry but there is no read me file nor anything to open. All I get from the download is a piece of paper with a folded corner when the downloading is complete.

warning do NOT download winrar it will infect your computer with addware it happened to me..

almost anything "free" has addware viruses in it so nothing is truely free

and yet I've been using the trial versions of WinRAR -and- Winzip for years without a single piece of adware.
