ETS 2 - 1.50 update
Hello,

My computer is easily powerful enough to run this game and has done for the past 12 months. I have 4070 but since the new up 1.50 I just get stuttering and my FPS is only in the 40's. Is anyone experience this issue? Could it be a mod?

If anyone could give me some advice or tell if they have this issue and if you have fixed it. I love this game and its spoiling the drive the game keep stuttering all the time its really annoying.

I never had this problem with 1.49 its been happening.

Either your settings are too high or mods are causing the issue.

If you think that it might have something to do with the hardware then it would be really useful to list every major component, and not just the gpu.

I have to say that I have been watching various threads since the 1.50 update with interest. Anytime someone mentions they have had issues with stuttering since the said update then straight away its down to mods or you set up graphics too high etc. Now as a veteran of over 3000 hrs in ets2 I have to say that in all that time I have never had issues with the big sudden drops in frame rates until this last update. Now I am not saying that anyone is wrong or right here but I have always had plenty of mods even on older spec machines and now I have quite a decent set up I think but as I say until this latest update no issues. What I will say is that ETS2 runs at a smooth 60 at 99% of the time but every minute or so will drop to 40 then straight back to 60fps again thus causing a stutter. And in all my 12 years of playing the game have never been so frustrated with it. If you are getting a completely smooth game 100% of the time then please tell me how.

My hardware:
i7-11800H, 16GB RAM, RTX3070 Laptop GPU.
Settings on high (scaling 300%, SSAO deactivated, TAA+SMAA dynamic).
Playing in 1080p with FPS limited to 60.
No issues at all on a vanilla profile (no mods ever in it).

If you say so. You might have your reasons, why you keep your hardware a secret and yet you expect answers. Anwers based on the information, you didn't provide.

Good luck.

So your saying its a mod issue then?

Not sure I can play without some mods.

I'll give it a try

So far, after some time of ver. 1.50 being released and some players experiencing graphics problems, the two major causes found on here are out of date and incompatible mods and not resetting the graphics in the game and in Nvidia Control Panel or the Radeon equivalent.

You cannot just set all graphics settings at "ultra" if that is what you used in ver. 1.49, they will not work any longer.
The game has a completely new graphics rendering engine and you'll need to change your settings to find the optimum configuration for whatever hardware you run it on.
Older GFX cards may not be able to run it at excessive detail and scaling levels, or with some mods that cause fps problems.
Aim for a capped frame rate of 60 fps running smoothly with no lagging or stuttering that looks good to you, there is no point in trying to run at 120 fps, it isn't a shooter game.
There are many threads on here addressing this, some with suggested settings, but every PC is different, you have to find your own sweet spot.

I can join in the chorus of players saying that they are not having problems and I only have a modest PC, which I built and continually upgrade:
AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 16 Gb RAM @ 3 GHz, 2 Samsung 500 Gb 970 Evo Plus NVMe drives, for Win 10 and my Steam library, with an RTX 3060 12 Gb Gigabyte GFX card running @ 2560x1440 into a Samsung 144 KHz gaming monitor.

That gives a constant 60 fps anywhere on the entire ETS2 map with all DLC, and no mods at high or ultra settings and 100% scaling.

It took an afternoon of trying different settings, starting with the GeForce Experience suggested settings as a base line. Those were pretty poor, but it now looks fantastic and plays as it should. I don't think there is a prescriptive, single settings, one-size-fits-all solution for this, PC vary too much in hardware and Windows system set-up, but it most certainly can be made to run very, very well with a bit of effort.

Sample video, if you would like to see how it looks to me, of the most detailed section of the whole map, the city centre of Bern in Switzerland, after the SCS rework. ATS is equally excellent. Run YouTube @ 1440p60 HD full screen, to see it (allowing for Y/T compressing the original) as it looks to me on my monitor.

No chance you have 400 Scaling on RTX 4060 and getting 60fps locked you must be playing at 1080p
