edit: I've even modified the config file so that my mirror renders FURTHER away than normal, and no issues with image quality.
Hello. This interest me. Is there a way to modify the file you mention to avoid some montain popping up in some areas of Iberia and Scandinavia?(not talking about mirror distance, but in the normal view of the game). Some mountains are loaded very close and is a bit immersion breaking. I play in max settings.
The terrain loading distance is hard coded in the game engine; not something editable.

Change your graphics card settings to 45.50.55.60 BPS.
More power to the game and well to run on your graphics card and more Performance on Texture Filtering Quality.
