The most fu... npc/ai ever
So many "updates" and "improvements" and yet the damn AI isn't able to avoid crashing into my car. I signal in time when changing lanes, keep my distance, etc. etc. But no... the AI always crashes into my truck. Not a single trip in which I don't have to pay 2-3% damage.
I think that the NPCs don't react to signal anyway, they just race mindlessly through the scene.
And no, I don't use mods, I use the original vanilla version.
The developers should learn to program properly or let ChatGPT show you how to do it properly.

My 5 cents.

In the game it just far to much, to be realistic. It need's to be sorted
as it spoil's the game.

Actually zipper joining is law in most European countries. The first ones even start to abandon the idea of an ending lane (that legally does not exist anyways) and marking them as joining equally with the lane divider stripes ending and the outer markings narrowing in symmetrically.

Interesting to know. I wasn't aware of how different traffic laws are in the EU as opposed to the US traffic laws which I'm more familiar with. Still, you'd think a vehicle right beside you merging into your lane would yield the right of way instead of merging into your vehicle the way AI in the game does.

After toll stations, the vehicle on the right has right of way (game rule, not IRL rule), this was done to prevent massive traffic jams after toll stations.

The main problem I have with AI is when they're merging into my lane. They tend to follow a "zipper" pattern instead of relying on any real right-of-way rules when merging, meaning if they're ahead of the player or right beside, they will merge believing they have the right of way when IRL they would not.
Which was done to speed up traffic. Before they did the correct thing and just waited on the on-ramp until the highway was clear. Not really great, tbh. Now traffic flow is much better for the small price of you having to pay a bit more attention.
