ETS2 Not Launching on Linux

Hello, I recently purchased and downloaded Euro Truck Simulator 2 from steam, however when I run it, steam thinks it's running for about five minutes and then it says it's not running anymore (as in, I press play, it turns into cancel, then stop, and then a few minutes later the button goes back to play on its own), no window pops up or anything. In my ~/.local/share/Euro\ Truck\ Simulator\ 2/game.log.txt, there are no errors. But I'll put it here anyway.

I've tried deleting ~/.local/share/Euro\ Truck\ Simulator\ 2/ (didn't work), running multiple times (the log is on the second run after deleting the local/share/euro truck folder- but the first run was pretty much the same except not in safe mode) and I've verified my game files on steam, and it says they're all good "All 110 files successfully validated".

Trying to run ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Euro\ Truck\ Simulator\ 2/bin/linux_x64/eurotrucks2 just runs it through steam and thus its output has nothing interesting "Steam is already running, exiting (command line was forwarded)".

In htop (system monitor / task manager) while the game is running, /usr/lib/systemd/systemd-coredump or steamwebhelper is the #1 process in terms of CPU usage which is odd.

Any help is appreciated. The demo version worked great so I'm not sure why after buying it it doesn't work at all.

The demo version is an older version of the game. This game get updated and upgraded thus it needs more resources to run. And you should have looked at the minimum specs because you are below these. The not even 6GB of RAM aren't enough and a GPU isn't even being reported but seeing that you have a CPU from 2011 and possibly an integrated GPU, with that the answer as to why it doesn't run is quite simple:
Your hardware is not able to run the game as it is too low spec.

You can request a refund but you really need to upgrade your PC.

That doesn't matter, you are too far below minimum specs. And I saw your link (you can make it visible by quoting it) and that told me enough. You need to get better hardware if you want to play the game.

In case any future travellers find this thread, I right clicked on the game in my library and went to Properties->Betas->Beta Participation and set it to temporary_1_49 - 1.49.x for incompatible mods and it works really well!
