Not sure if that's any different if you drive automatic,
It should be the same on any Real life vehicle too.
I have owned and/or driven many real-life vehicles with cruise control and a manual transmission. Generally, the clutch pedal has a switch just like the brake pedal which cancels the cruise when you shift gear, to stop it free-revving.
No, this is not true. Cruise control does not depend on the tranmission setup.
Since it's main purpose is just holding a set speed, it's not necessary to change the gears under normal conditions. In case you need to change the gear, you can do that manually whenever you want. You just have to re-enable CC after changing the gear.
