1.50 red light fines and ABS
i do not know if anybody has come across this but since the game has updated, when ever i pull up to a set of traffic lights, i stop absolutely perfect before the lights yet i am getting a red light offence. This has happened to me now three times today and it is annoying me.
Second thing i have noticed since update, the ABS on my truck seems to work when it wants to. Example. i was in a queue of trucks at one of these new border crossings out of Switzerland, i slowly crept forward (max 10km/h), yet my ABS didn't activate and ploughed me straight into the truck in front of me, crash fine and 5% damage.
i seriously do not know if they are trying to improve the game or bugger up in game mechanics.

If you are driving over the stop line you will get fined for a red light violation. These things exist for a reason.

And what should your ABS have done about your crash? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-lock_braking_system
No, really. What?

Also, nothing has changed for either in the update.

an addition to my above comment so people can actually help and not just spout random things in reply.
i had stopped perfectly before the stop lines at the lights. at most if it was in real life i would say upto 3 meters before the line. so i know how it works i do not need negative comments.
also i know how ABS works. i was just wondering why it didn't kick in like it normally does when i have approached other vehicles in game.
i understand alot of you have played the game a lot longer than i have. so being snarky in your replies does not help me to improve my gameplay. i am asking a genuine question about something i have come across in game.

No, you clearly don't. Because ABS doesn't do that.

Are you confusing ABS (anti-lock braking system) with an adaptive cruise control system or the automatic emergency braking?
As Wolfgang says, ABS does not do what you imagine it to do.
As for red lights, use the front external camera to confirm you are BEHIND the line, not up to or over it, stopping 3 metres behind will never trigger a red light offence and will cost you nothing. Otherwise, turn off traffic fines and live free.

i can confirm the red light issue, i have stopped multiple times now today well and truly behind the stop line for traffic lights and have been hit with now 5 fines, all at traffic lights in Switzerland and the new road sections leading in and out of said country. i have now resorted to stopping at least a full truck length before the lights. and i like having the fines on to help with realism. but getting fined for not even crossing a red light is annoying.
as for the braking issue i might be confusing it, but i am still learning the game and mechanics. so any comments that can improve my gameplay are welcome.

Had multiple red lights today, not a single fine.
Are you using mods?
pastymike May 14, 2024 @ 12:03pm
only mod i use is a sound fixes mod. i have disabled all other mods as they were not being updated.

Same issue with the red light fine on my end on one crossing in Graz. I did stop nearly one car lenght in front of the stop line. Hoever I can confirm this bug just on this single crossing. No mods have been used and with a new driver set up to test the new release (Need to wait for all the mod updates on my main game).

I can confirm once again the red light violation is still on going. today alone i had three offences, all within three intersections in hamburg. all one after another. all three triggered as i was pulling up to the lights as they changed to red. i have now disabled my traffic offences as it got me really annoyed. i was trying to do some achievements where you got to deliver cargo without fines or damage. guess that's gonna have to wait. and to point out Tancendental picture above. that's how i stop at most lights, with a big enough gap between me and the line. according to other posts here i am seeing people are writing it up as a bug.

I agree with pastymike, this is a new thing/bug.
It helps if there is a stop line in the first place, as this one in SW Germany pictured above. (This one is for you Wolfgang)
I always stop well before the stop line (when there is one), usually I stop where I can still see the lights from within the cab without having to turn my view.

Are those suffering from this issue running any mods because I for one have not had this happen yet
pastymike May 18, 2024 @ 6:14am
the only mod i use is a sound fix mod. i have even disabled it to test problem and still have it.

Happened to me in Frankfurt. I was a whole truck away from the lights. This was My first journey after joining World of Trucks. I put it down to latency with the WoT server. didn't happen again. No chance of getting my fine money back. I only run one mod, a sound mod. Which I have now turned off. I dont know if this was the cause.

This is not a mods issue. My profile has always been vanilla, never ever had any mods.

If it has not happened to you yet, i'm sure it will, that's because you probably had a green light at the same spots as we had red lights. From what I can see so far, it is happening in areas that have been updated in 1.50.
Time will tell if this is more widespread as people start to report it more.
