1.50 to 1.49

Guys i dont wanna play on 1.50 beta anymore it doesnt suit my pc. I want to go back to the latest version of 1.49. How to do it? And will i lose my game profile and data if i do so?. And will i also lose the progress i did in 1.50 beta? Plz tell

If you enter 1.50 beta version, stay there with your save until it is officially released, your save should roll over without problem.

I belief if none selected it will redownload entire game version 1.49 expect over 20 GB, I do not know because afraid to do it but I thinks of thats.

If you are not using Steam Cloud, you can

1) go to Documents/ Euro Truck Simulator 2
2) back up the "profiles" folder (copy them to somewhere else)
3) find "profiles(1.49.2.23s or the latest version).bak" folder
4) Go into the folder indicating your number (a long string of code)
5) Copy everything inside the folder
6) paste them into Documents/ Euro Truck Simulator 2/profiles folder
7) Go back to Steam and select 1.49 version
8) Start the game and load the save

It's been some time since I did this, any additional info or correction is welcome.

What will you do when the beta becomes the current game version? Is your PC hardware good enough to run it when it leaves beta? What problems does it cause?

first of all i normally run ets2 on 15 to 20 fps. after updating to 1.50 beta the game crashes frequently and the fps drops to 10. so thats why. my pc specs are:-
core i3-10100T
UHD 630 Graphics
8gb Ram
1 TB HDD

Those specs are not going to run ver 1.49 well, never mind ver. 1.50 when it drops. Integrated graphics chips are not designed for playing games, and will steal the slow system RAM, which at 8 Gb, is too low to start with.
That set up does not really meet the minimum hardware spec for the game now, and is going to be far too low in the future. A PC suitable for gaming is going to be needed is you want to continue playing ETS2.
If your motherboard supports it, using a discrete modern graphics card and installing 16 Gb RAM will extend the life of the system, together with an SSD or NVme M2 drive for faster storage.

Your hardware is the issue as it was never meant to be used for gaming. You need a hardware upgrade.

i know that i wont run in the future. also i cant upgrade it because it is a all in one pc (everything inside the monitor). next year or at the end of this year i will buy gaming laptop with ryzen 7 7840hs rtx 4060 and 16gb ddr5 ram.

You should have still got saved game. Don't touch it or delete it while in 1.50. If want to play that saved game then downgraded the game back to Public patches. Then your saved game will works. If deleted it then you've made it worst by gotten rid of it yourselves

My save game is still there but if I used it on 1.50 it'll do the same as your did crashed. But might need a new save game anyway. Since 1.50 got lot's of changes and ahead of that will have new game engine implanted. So that means anyone's saved from 1.49 will be scrapped

Go to game library right click Euro Truck Simulator 2 click properties then in beta tabs click on a box go to back to non or patch 1.49.
