Some Online Radio stations stopped working
After some of the recent updates the radio stations stopped working, though they were working fine before.
Does anyone else has the same issue? Can you please check them on your side to confirm?

I suppose all Icecast broadcasted stations are not supported anymore...

I'm really missing SomaFM: X-Mas Lounge now during Xmas Event:steamsad:

Use these in your live_streams.sii file, which is in the "Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2" folder and open with notepad.
Change the number in the square brackets to suit that of your file.
So if for example you add these to the end of your list of stations and the last one in that list is 101, then the following will be 102, 103, 104 and 105.
Then change the number in
stream_data: 5
To be that of the number in the last entry in the list -1. So in the above example it would be 104.

stream_data[5]: "https://ice2.somafm.com/christmas-256-mp3|SomaFM: Christmas Lounge (#1)|General|EN|0|1" stream_data[6]: "https://ice6.somafm.com/christmas-256-mp3|SomaFM: Christmas Lounge (#2)|General|EN|0|1" stream_data[7]: "https://ice4.somafm.com/christmas-256-mp3|SomaFM: Christmas Lounge (#3)|General|EN|0|1" stream_data[8]: "https://ice1.somafm.com/christmas-256-mp3|SomaFM: Christmas Lounge (#4)|General|EN|0|1"

I hope that helps.

Thanks for answer, I added the stations 2 years ago and they worked fine last Xmas Event in 2020, I didn't change anything.
Can you confirm that these radio stations work on your side?

I think I found confirmation of existing issue, and possibly pinpointed when it started: https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=283421

Apparently SomaFM stations aren't likely to work anymore because they're trying to cut down on people streaming through anything other than their own apps or website (or something like that, anyway). SomaFM is all i listen to so it's a shame.

That's not toally correct. I can open any Soma.FM's radio station in a web browser or a media player and listen to it without any issues.
Also, yesterday I killed 3hrs testing different solutions and found out, that ANY radio station that uses Icecast for stremaing doesn't work in ETS2 and ATS.. The game got broken at some point.

Thanks for the info on icecast. Sorry I did not know that.

I suppose the only answer is to open up SomaFm.com and play via a browser.

Sure, not the end of the world, but it's a pity when something that was available before is removed for no reason :steamsad:

there are plenty of icecast servers including my own (that I just patched in for testing) are working perfectly fine in the SCS player, BUT all those somafm stations just flat refuse, every time one is selected there is a FMOD error thrown up.
[edit] I posted the wrong error.
00:00:46.898 : <ERROR> [fmod] (16) End of file unexpectedly reached while trying to read essential data (truncated?). 00:00:46.898 : <ERROR> [sound] Failed to initialize sound 'https://ice2.somafm.com/christmas-256-mp3?'.

Yep, I have icecast stations such as "Planet Rock" and "Kerrang" and they work fine.
I have tried all combinations of aac, mp3, m3u, pls etc and none work other than through their own player or mobile app.

I can get
https://ice2.somafm.com/christmas-256-mp3
to play via Edge web browser on Windows 11 and it throws up controls for it so I am assuming it is not just a pure MP3 stream

Weird, yestreday I specifically tested Icecast VS Outcast, and all Icecast were failing for me.
Outcast were fine. I found restream of one of SomaFM's station to Shoutcast and it works fine too.
Old Winamp can stream SomaFM through https://ice2.somafm.com/christmas-256-mp3, so what changed in ETS2/ATS
I have one idea, let me try it and I'll get back to you later with results.

Has anyone got https:// streams in their list of stations?

None of my working ones had https:// only http:// I wonder if it cannot handle secure webs sources?

the player does not handle secure transport, most of the time you can remove the s as stream data is actually transported on un encrypted http

Yeah that works as a web URL it still opens some HTML with media controls in it. So doubt it will work inside ETS2 or ATS.

If you mean like a little mini player in the middle of the page, Those controls are built in to the browser as default for playing media.
