I have no clue how you’re playing the game, but if you don’t already play it using a steering wheel, this would be my first suggestion to make it more immersive and fun.
And like with everything else: If you find something less interesting, then go play/do something else a while and come back when you have the itch again.

Been playing since day one. Never once have I been bored. The game play is so diverse.

If you find the game boring then it's just not for you, I have well over 3500 hours in it, and there have been ups and downs in how often I play the games, but nothing has to change for me game play wise.
I've played many more exciting games in my (much) younger days, but most of them 'till I reached the end and never bothered with it again.

I don´t think I want to drive anything bigger then the longest truck and trailer combinations we got. After all it should be able to drive on european roads.

No, there are those of us who are not seeking excitement and an adrenaline rush and for us we have games like ETS2 and I would like to keep it that way. Yes, it may be boring but for many of us we like it that way.

SCS must be doing something right. I am somewhere around 200 deliveries on the Switzerland event having delivered between 4200-5000 tons so far. It works out to about 40-44 hours a week of playtime.
