I never had the wish to use the controllers nor have i any idea for what you would use them in the game,
I do not have the space for a steering-wheel and pedals.
So I would like to use VR controllers to steer and manage pedals and shifter and switches.
It's done in MS Flight Simulator, so it should be possible in this game too.
ain't no shifter to shift so that's not an option. you'd be much better off as mentioned to get a wheel, pedals, shifter and use VR with that. aside from that, nothing else.
Maybe so, but that's not an option for me. Which brings me back to my original question.
If this does not work, you could try to play with a xbox controller, which works great with Steam.
Best option, if a steering wheel is not available, would be mouse / keyboard, imho. While mouse is used for steering. This will grant most of the precision, a wheel would provide. You will have to optimize and memorize the keyboard key mapping due to use it in VR. I did it. It's great!
FYI: There is a "reset position" key mapping in the game options. You will need that, too.
