Buying a new truck for heavier loads
I have my own truck.
Alas it is pretty basic. So sometimes I get caught with loads that are too heavy.

So I am thinking of getting a second truck with a higher pulling capacity.

But - of course - there is a bit of a catch.

So I get a job which is beyond the ability of the truck I have.
I can't just "swap" them, can I.

What is the process of switching trucks if the load is too heavy for the one "picking the job up" and the bigger one which could handle the load?

You can also upgrade your current truck.

Drive to a Repair Sup (purple icon on the map), stop the the green wrench marker and press Enter. Click Truck Configuration.

For more powerful truck, change engine and transmission. Maybe also chassis for more axles.

To answer the question on how to swap trucks, you can't do that once you have taken a job. On the ither hand almost any truck can pull almost any liad.

The general process of switching truck is from the Truck Manager. Select the truck you want to use and click Use.

Once you take on a job you can't switch them. And switching truck will set you to that truck's current location. Every truck can do every job. The original Steinbruch assets are to steep to get certain trailers out with a low power truck, but you don't get them out with high power either, you just change stalling the truck on the incline against spinning wheels on the incline. Given the pickup is not Steinbruch power of the truck basically determines duration of the job, low power can become somewhat tedious if nature dropped some mountains on your way.

Mine is a rebuilt Saab.
Bought second hand, then "refitted" (or what ever the term in) to get it back to 100% working.

I also "modded" it and put a third axle on it so that helps.
And maybe a slightly bigger engine in it.

Ok, so what I see/understand:

I have a truck which can pull 25 tones max - I think.

That does most of my jobs.....
But (you guessed it)

It doesn't do them all.

I added a real MOD and I can sometimes see/get Airbus bodies. (And wind farm blades - but haven't seen them yet)
Saw the first Airbus body but it was TOO HEAVY for my truck.

Getting a BIGGER one would work, but then on all the smaller jobs, it would be wasting money on fuel - yes? Asking as I'm not sure.
And it is kinda handy having a small truck to drive around in.

WRT the jobs:
I would swap trucks BEFORE taking the job. To me that is a no brainer.
Above 25T weight. Get the other truck.

But I'm guessing it still isn't really doable. I would have to get the truck to where I am from where it is.
And I prefer RHD trucks. So I am in the minority there.

Ok, thanks.

Good to know.

I am still trying to play it as "honestly" as possible. (Maybe good, maybe bad.)

So a bigger engine is the way to go.

Alas I will (probably) also need a bigger/better diff' and gearbox too - yes?
