Truck repairs.
If you own a garage or several garages there seems to no way to repair your own truck in one of them. This seems wrong to me especially as the AI trucks are fixed there. You can rest there, run the place and refuel in the large garages. This just does not happen in the real world.

I'm hoping I'm wrong and have missed something.

There is no way to repair your trucks in your garage, you need to drive to a repair shop.
I don't know if there are any mods for that kind of stuff

Your owned garages are only useful for resting and storing truck/trailers in the background. There's also a pump to fill your tank if you've upgraded the garage. You can't repair - this has to be done at a truck dealer where possible for at a repair shop (F7)

In reality, especially with the modern trucks, you dont repair them at your own garage anymore. You drive to a repair shop. Especially when you only have a small, 5 truck garage...

Indeed. Good point. Also fixing a truck is instant.

You should be able to fix your truck at the garage, maybe at a lower cost.

Hopefully not with a screwdriver and doing it screw by screw. "My Summer Truck..." :steamhappy:

It is against company policy to repair trucks. We send our trucks to a repair shop for 2 weeks to change a bulb, which cost 20 cents. They charge ~200€, but it is supposedly done professionally.

I disagree, I've have worked for lots of companies that still have an on site workshop and do all their own maintenance work.

A lot depends on how they get the Trucks the likes of Eddie and co i e big companies
they lease hire so all work is done for them
but Harry down the road who buys his own trucks normally repair them their selves

Yes, that's correct Don. Most of the bigger companies do lease higher as you say and of course the maintenance is usually included in the price of the lease but there are still plenty of small to mid size companies that run a workshop so I think it would be nice if it were an option in game.

Thatd be pretty illogical. If you, as a transportation company, do work on your own trucks, even though its just maintenance, youre automatically out of warranty. And you dont want that. And like i said, you need software for everything, a regular tranport company doesnt have the necessary software .

There are a hell of a lot of transport companys in the UK that do NOT buy new trucks
so the warranty problem is not an issue
Also You do not have to take a vehicle to a Main Dealer for service

Whether you think it is 'illogical' or not doesn't really matter, the fact is there are are still plenty of companies in the UK who do have their own workshops and do carry out their own maintenance. The real world here doesn't run like a game and not everyone can go out buying or leasing brand new trucks.

But we in continental europe do exactly that. Much more than buying old trucks with which you gotta pay more tax, more toll and cant get into every city. And since it seems to be just you guys from the island doing weird things with old vehicles, i dont think itll come in the game.
geocapital May 19, 2020 @ 12:05am
I doubt that "we in the continent" only buy new trucks. Stop the racist comments.
