Scania Truck T
Seen a few pics of a Scania truck that looks like a reworked T.
1. is it real what with the length restrictions.
2. Or is it a MOD.
Much prefer the conventional style rather than cab over.

Already have these two plus the 143H (fav). Just saw the pics of this other T and wondered.

no need for sorry thanks for the reply. The picture i saw {cant find it now) was not of these T or 143H. To be honest it was not a pretty truck but it was a long nose.

Length restrictions apply also for the real thing, so they were only used with short trailers. Certain types of trailer can become so heavy, that they are shorter than standard while reaching maximum weight, usually tankers, silos with certain types of load, dumpers - or even pretty normal curtainsiders, but used for steel coil transport. These were no problem to be used with Scania T or Volvo N/NH despite length restrictions.

thanks fror the reply. No offence but drove truck for 43 years. Know call about length limits. Just saw a pic of a Scania T ? and was wondering if it was a new series from Scania or just a mod for the game.

The last official Scania T was built based on the first model years of Series 5, the oldest model in ETS2. They were dropped in 2005, while the series 5 CoE were built until 2013 when the Streamline was introduced.
(EDIT - wrote originally series 4 and only by chance found a series 5 model T afterwards and did some deeper research)

Everything based on Streamline or New Generation is either a mod without a real counterpart or based on a custom built truck that was sold by Scania as a CoE and converted afterwards. I know at least one such conversion based on the DAF XF105 exists in the real world.

What you can find for real in a handful of vehicles on the other hand is the Iveco Strator. It is based on the first two generations of the Stralis and officially built for Australia, but some were grey imported, converted to LHD by a dutch Iveco dealer and sold in the EU around 2010 - and some in the UK of course are running without the conversion.
Have not seen it for a while, but I know that 10 years ago a company from the neighbour town had an Iveco Strator running with silo trailers.

Scania is not really my brand. But I have to say the Series 7 / New Generation conversions look really cool.
