G290 or G29? For ETS2, ATS and other driving games.
I played ETS2 nearly 30 hours with controller. Now after watching people streaming American Truck Simulator on Twitch. Iam really interested in having a racing wheel to make my Euro Truck Simulator even more better experience.

However, I see there are two options from Logitech. G290 or G29. I have hard time to decide which one should I get, since I've never owned a racing wheel before. People have recommended me to get G27 instead, but I can't find it anywhere and if I do find it. The price for delivery almosts costs as much as getting G29 alone.

Also, is the Driving Force Shifter also worth getting along with the wheel?

I know the price is high. It won't be a problem. I just would like to know which one is worth getting. Iam already considering to get G29 because the wheel has more buttons, as for G290... it lacks some buttons for some reason.

Logitech G29 is the good one. G27 must be bought as a used product as it's discontinued. And maybe that would be something for you as you would save a lot of money.

The newer one is a bit more upgraded and super expensive, i'll go for that one if i was you.

The newer one? Do you mean G290? Since I remember it was released later than G29.

I was thinking about another brand, should be G29 that should be first choice..

I use a brilliant G920, so consider looking into that! I got mine for only £180 ~ $240 but I live in the UK, so prices may be different!

G27 For PC But G29 For Ps4.

I recommend a used G27. cheaper and you get an transmission with it. Also, finding info about FFB settings to different games is much easier.

Both the G29 and G920 (G290 is a typo) work with the PC. I use the G29 on a PC. Logitech does not promote the G29 PC compatiblity, but it is noted in the specs and on the box.

Neither come with the shifter, which is now a separate purchase. The shifter has no buttons on it unlike the G27 (buttons migrated to wheel). If you drive with an automatic transmission, then you don't need the shifter, you can assign buttons on the wheel for Drive and Reverse. If you want to do manual transmission, well...

I chose the G29 because you get 26 buttons to configure versus 20 for the G920. Other than button configuration, both systems are the same.

This is the best response and exactly the answer I was looking for. Thank you!

You're welcome! I forgot to mention that the G29 has a centering band (that blue metal ring on the wheel) and I find it useful for centering the wheel and syncing the wheel with the game (sometimes you have to 're-center' the game and wheel). Best of luck with your decision!

G29 and G920 are good enough for ETS 2 and / or ATS. Personally, I would argue for the G29, as it has more buttons. But if you want to play Farming Simulator or other games that require combined pedals, both steering wheels are the wrong choice, because you can not combine the pedals

I was looking into a g29 myself but there seem to be some heavy issues if u check on logitech's forums. Just a little note of "buyer beware."

H shifter is a MUST for me to enjoy this game, buy a G27 if you can find a nice one and you will save a lot of money.

G29 for PS4 and G920 for XboxOne. Both are PC ready. I am using G29 now for ETS2, ATS and FS15. With Project Cars, my G29 might fly off the table mount since it is too nerve-wrecking for me.
