Logitech G29 on Mac (Macbook Pro 2019, macOS Catalina)
Hi Guys,

I need some help here.

So, I invested into the Logitech G29 steering wheel and pedal, to make the game more enjoyable. Was really happy when it arrived today, but now i am so bummed.

I tried all afternoon to connect it and use it, but it does not have it at all... I downloaded both Logitech GHub and Gaming Software. Gaming software does not even see it, and GHub just seems not working properly, can't even open some parts of the application, and reinstalled 3 times already. The wheel seems connected, as it turns on, turns around and has the lights. When i start the game, it sees the wheel, but i can not set anything with it, nor use it, and it does not sees the pedals at all.

I read that my problem is probably because my Macbook Pro does not have a usb 2\3 connection, just the C type 3.1, where i need to use a hub to be able to connect the set to the mac. Now I read somewhere, that if the hub does not have it's own power supply, it will not work... which obviously does not have, as I think you can't even buy any with the power supply... Now I ordered some USB C to USB 3 adapter.. hopefully it will work, not sure if an adapter works as a hub or just as a normal usb. (sorry, not a geek here )

The set itself works properly, the PS4 is just perfect, immediately with every function. My flatmate has a Windows laptop, and he plays ETS2 too, and everything works there too.

I bought this set because it was recommended, as this set works perfectly with macs...

Any ideas guys?

Sorry for the long story :D

Thank you ever so much whoever helps me here.

Kind Regards,

A wannabe trucker

Any luck with g29 on Catalina? I have the same setup and the same problem. Though I've been able to use the wheel with proper pedal and Logitech shifter support on a Windows 10 VM that runs on my Macbook Pro. It is by no means a gaming setup, extremely slow and inefficient but at least I know it's the CATALINA or Logitech drivers, not hardware.

You need yo go to system preferences /security and privacy/input montitoring put a checkmark next to any thing Logitech ,American Truck Sim, and checkmark on Steam. Also check accessibility and put a check mark on ATS, and Logitech. Im using a 29 wheel on the newest version of Catalina with ATS, and it works fine.

Does your Mac have a USB type A port? If not, what kind of Thunderbolt->USB A adator/hub are you using? May I also ask are you using Logitech Gaming Software or GHUB? And what versions? I am absoltely desperate after 1.5 months of totally useless communication with horrendous Logitech support.

Yes, I'd done that before: LGS, GHUB and ETS2 are all checked. The result is MacOS sees the usb device, but Logitech software fails to detect it. Logitech support says that "we cannot guarantee the functionality of our products when third-party adapters are used". They have no problem saying they support MacOS completely failing to mention you can't use G29 on a thunderbolt port.

Sure. Installed & reinstalled GHUB & LGS. Do you have it working on a thunderbolt port? Is it possible at all?

I have exactely the same Problem. I have a logitech G29 Steering Wheel and tried it on a MacBook Pro with Catalina and a new MacBookAir M1 with Big Sur.

The Wheel is connected with a USB-C-Adapter not rcognised by the Mac.
However it makes a turn to turn first time it is attached.

Who can help me?

Yes. Satechi hub or Apple adapter -- both work. Mojave + Latest logitech gaming software is the way to go. If you have problems with this setup let me know.
