Pro mods

Greetings truckers!

I have seen the term ProMods passing by a bunch of times now and it got me wondering as to what are so different about them. I mean we got the workshop mods but from the reactions these so called pro mods seem to be much more in demand and causing less problems.

Then also what promods are a must have according to you and what are the pitfalls to watchout for during instal and gameplay. Friendly regards from, Dane

First off thanks for the link, will use it when my concerns are settled if you do not mind :)
Seeing how you say it adds maps to europe does that mean i have to have all dlc for these promods to work? Then also are there any known issues that effect gameplay in any way?

I am also looking into increasing my scania buy options and a more realistic feel in general.

I do use an bunch of mods already, some worked as a charm others did meh and got deleted or deactivated. Like the real gastations and real companie mods i have, also a bunch of trailers and a nav voice one for my language.

ProMods v2.43 (for ETS2 v1.36.x) requires all current map DLC's except for the Road to the Black Sea since they didn't merged this DLC to ProMods yet.

Greetings Dane from the Land Down Under

I have been using Promods off and on for a good while now (10 years ) .
There are some minor hiccups to bear in mind with this map .
1) as you may be aware SCS updates the map every now and then, which can cause all mods to stop working so obviously you can either wait for a new release in the form of a patch or a whole new map which can take a while , or just revert to an earlier version .
2) There are 2 ways to get the mod there's the easy way which is you pay for the download ( please note this is for the download not the map) I think it's 1 Euro or free download with ads which is a hell of a lot slower as you can only download 3 files at a time and there's 7 files( not allowing for the traffic on the network /servers )
3) After downloading you need to pay attention regarding adding to the load order with the in game Mod Manager but this is outlined when you download as there's a txt file and if you get stuck just login to your Promods profile look on the forum and the Maps thread and this is explained very clearly

The blaze I think they're still working on the merge also don't forget that you can't run the current Promods with RTTBS yet.

Never said they are not working making the newest DLC compatible with ProMods.

Regarding compatibility:

This version requires the East, North, France, Italy & Baltic DLCs to be installed. Road to the Black Sea does not prevent the game from loading but is not compatible.

Thanks Theblaze, this kinda ruin things for me when it comes to promods but beter to know beforehand then to download and regret ever second of it :P Seeing how the DLC's are important to promods i am unable to use them at this time. You see i am still getting the official dlc's, this means i simply have to be patient till i have them then use promods :)

Hey Adrian Really thanks for this torough explanation, as you notice by now i am at this moment unable to make use of promods but in time this all comes in real handy so again thanks a lot :)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Now i am still curious to see how you all feel about the workshop mods and why you think i should use this or that mod. Keep in mind im going for an realistic feel and beter imersive experience and try to expand my options to buy trucks and their goodies to make em nice :)

Promods used to be a must or else the game was unplayable. Now that SCS has made so many expansions there is more areas to drive around instead of, say, Scandinavia and western/eastern europe, where the latter was all copy/paste.

Dude you should be salesmen about this one *laughs* Epic sale talk right there ^_^ Anyhow as it turned out i would need all dlc but black sea to run promods and i am nowhere close to that yet :) One sale at a time and il get there :p

None the less am i still searching for an more realitic and emersive game if posible at all. Am already running the real gas stations and company name mods and ofcourse a whole bunch of others for trailers and cabin wheel & stuff. As for the TMP that too will be in time once i got all the dlc's.

Just to clarify: It's not ALL the DLC that you need, just all of the MAP DLC. The Promods team uses assets contained within the various map DLC content so in order for players to use the mod they must also have the dependent DLC assets being used in the mod.

Also to clarify: The latest version of Promods, 2.43, works just fine if you own the Black Sea DLC, however, it over-writes that area rendering the new map DLC unusable on a profile using Promods. They are working to integrate the new DLC with their mod but there is, as yet, no ETA on when that will be released.
