You might want to select each and see if there is a difference in the job description.
Shorter means less distance to travel thus beter chance to use less fuel and thus being cheaper in the running costs The faster road will put you mostly on straight ways and highways but will increase fuelflow and thus you have to stop to tank sooner increasing cost.
Its all up to you and more factors to decide what fits best per trip. Sometimes an faster will end up getting payed the best while on other occasions it might be visa versa
-I guess i can understand this diffrences with this answer. This faster route choice is meaby usual usefull when you have "busy" -transport so, i could safe my time then, even if that cost more fuel. Otherwise i can get shorter trip if i just use default "shorter" -road choise, thanks for the info. :3
The difference between the two is simply that one chooses the shortest route in terms of distance and the other the shortest in terms of time. Fuel shouldn't really factor in to which you choose - if you like driving the back routes then select Shorter, if you are happy hauling on the motorway choose Faster.
The fastest road will take you through highways and such, and get you to the destination faster.
While the shortest road will focus on the shortest path, but you'll be driving slower through country and take longer to get to the destination.
In terms of fuel consumption, is unrelated, you can waste as much or more fuel in the shortest road, especially with all the shifts in speed and constant stopping (while highway you maintain stable RPMs most of the way).
